Vincent paused when he heard the name.

"....yes..." he responded.

"I do remember him." he said.

"The LeBlancs were absolutely devastated when he went missing, and the fact that he could be located, no matter what method was used, didn't help matters, either." he went on.

"What about him?" he asked.

"I'm not so foolish as to assume he's suddenly just turned up." he told her further, before pausing again.

"...though I AM hoping it's the case..." he admitted quietly.

"I'm trying to find a section about half-breed creatures I remember reading." Vincent responded.

"Specifically, how their genetics are passed on, and further on down the line, and such." he said.

"Jaden and Desiree are considering a child in their future, but are obviously concerned about such things, and understandably so." he went on.

"Sydney had some info, but there were some gaps in important information, and I know the chapter I read bridged them." he explained further.

"But it's being a bugger to find." he muttered, before sighing deeply.

"Suppose I ought to take a break before I go mad." he admitted.

"What's this news?" he asked her.

After a few seconds, the door opened... seemingly by itself.

But this wasn't anything new. It just meant that Vincent had used his wind mana to open it.

When she stepped through the door, she saw her brother at his study desk, frantically pouring over several texts.

"Where IS it...?" he muttered to himself.

"Oh, hello Hollie." he greeted his sister, briefly looking at her, before going back to the books.

"It should be in THIS chapter, if it's in THIS book..." he mumbled further.

Illias scratched his chin slightly when she said that.

"That would make sense." he said.

"If there's ANYTHING odd about the stone, you two will be able to figure it out." he commented.

"At any rate, I've wasted enough of your time." he then said.

"We have info to spread." he reasoned.

"I'll let you know if we discover anything more about the blood."

"Fair enough." Illias responded.

"Hopefully something more can be found out about it." he said.

"...still... it's strange." he muttered.

"They're so very close to being Weeping Angels, but... they're not quite." he commented.

"I wonder... how these things come into being..." he went on.

"Even my gorgon's stare doesn't do it quite like THAT..." he mumbled.

"....true." Illias said.

"Oh yes, anything from that stone?" he asked.

"Or is it just... generic stone?" he asked further.

"If it had some kind of weird... anything... in it, we'd be able to discern a location, but... stone can just be stone." he sighed, shaking his head.

"Oh!" he then exclaimed.

"And the shipment of dyes and clarifiers you ordered came in." he added, just remembering it.

"Very well." Illias responded.

"I will get this information to Sharp, then." he told her.

"Should we tell the Triad, as well?" he then asked.

"Or... is this even of their concern right now...?" he wondered aloud, pondering it.

"Well, if it is, I'm sure the head of the Council will be able to tell them." he then reasoned with a shrug.

Illias nodded.

"Yeah." he said.

"And one of us needs to report this to sharp." he told her.

"Which one would you prefer to do?" he asked. "Telling Sharp, or the Council?" he listed off.

"Whichever you choose, I'll do the other one."

"See ya whenever you get back." Ash replied, before hanging up.

"....suppose I should tell Ashley and Lindsay about this." he mumbled.

-Some amount of time later-

Kiah was in the lab, looking at some of the fragments of the stone from the entity that had attacked Aedan, when there was a knock on the lab door.

When she looked over towards it, she saw Illias standing there.

"Doctor Remmington?" he addressed her.

"We have the test results back from the blood." he said, coming closer, papers in his hand.

"Was a bit difficult, seeing as it was pretty old and stagnant, but we managed to find out who it belongs to." he continued, handing her the papers.

"Seems it was a necromancer that was reported as missing... well... over a century ago."

There was silence on the other side of the line for a moment.

"....for real?" he asked.

"Yeah." Casey replied.

"Talk about a coincidence." Ash then said.

"How?" Casey asked him.

"Lindsay had his neck snapped earlier as well." Ash told her. "Landed in the pool as well, so that was a right pain." he went on. "Luckily Ashley heard him, or he might still be floating in there." he said further.

"We're still trying to find out who did it, but we have no leads or anything." he went on.

"He's still a little out of it, as is usual when he's been 'dead' for a bit due to being soaked, but the last thing he remembers is admiring some of the sculptures that were out in the yard." he then informed her.

"Which is stupid, seeing as there aren't any out there."

The man she had spoken to was still speaking with the authorities, and she knew that they'd be there very soon.

As she walked, she noticed that people were mostly staying in the banquet hall, mingling and socializing, but she saw someone breaking off from the group.

And they looked like they were walking in the direction of Mason's body.

In fact, they looked like they were purposely headed that way.

The person seemed to be stunned to the point of being horrified.

"D-d-dead?" he stammered.

"Y-yes, of course." he told her.

"I'll call them right away." he said, quickly pulling out his phone and starting to dial the number.

Casey knew she wouldn't be getting home anytime soon, now. Not with her being the one that discovered the body.

As she looked, she saw no sign of him, but she was opting to head straight to where the statues had been, seeing as that was where he had been seen last.

And he was still there.

Collapsed on the floor with a horribly broken neck, like it had been violently snapped.

Also... the statues were nowhere to be seen. They were completely gone, as though they had never been there at all. The only evidence of them having been there would be a few stray pebbles.

The one she was talking to just smiled.

"Aw, that's sweet of you." he said.

"Yes, he DID have an eye on that one." he commented, chuckling a little.

"Go ahead and look for him. I'll see if anyone else has seen him." he told her further.

"If we find him, we'll tell him to wait here for you."
