The one she asked thought for a moment, and shook his head.

"No, sorry." he replied.

"Haven't seen him since... hmmm..." he mumbled. "Since he went to tell you to come HERE, actually." they said further, remembering it.

"Yeah. Yeah, that was the last time I saw him." they confirmed.

"Sorry I can't be of more help." they then apologized.

Mason shrunk a bit as Casey had her little outburst, and watched her go.

"...." he was quiet, before looking back at the statues, seemingly fascinated with that.

"Huh." he mumbled, making his way closer.

"Swore those were in different positions when I last saw them..." he muttered further, before shrugging and turning away to head to where everyone else was.

-Some time later-

Casey had gotten everything straightened out, and the speech had gone off without a hitch. The fundraiser continued to make money, and the food that was being served was delicious... but there was something that seemed... off... to Casey, but she couldn't put her finger on it, until she noticed an empty seat.

Mason hadn't shown up for the speech and dinner.

She didn't have time to think about it too much, before she heard her name.

"Miss Kiczys!" a young male, Mason, around 22 years old, called to her. He was one of the people helping her organize her things for the event.

"You're needed in the hall!" he said.

"They want your help in arranging your paintings for maximum aesthetics."

"Very well." the man responded.

"See you at the banquet speech." he told her, before leaving her be.

As Casey looked over the statues, she felt a bit... strange. But she couldn't really put her finger on it, until she got up VERY close to one of them.

When she did, she felt her mana almost start to 'spark' and 'sizzle' a little, almost like she had a bad case of static going on in her clothing. Which wouldn't have been so odd if it had been her electric mana that had been acting up.

But it wasn't.

It was her necromantic mana that was reacting, it seemed.

"They weren't here when this event was being set up." he responded.

"Very odd..." he mumbled, scratching at his chin.

"I may need to ask around, see if anyone else knows anything about this." he commented further.

"I thought for sure they were yours." he said.

"The detail in the faces is exquisite." he went on. "You'd almost swear they were actually moulded from real faces." he said further.

"Sorry to have bothered you, Casey." he then apologized.

The man looked confused as well.

"You didn't?" he asked.

"But there's a couple of statues over by the bay window exhibit." he told her.

"They look like angels, but their faces are that of bitter defeat, horror, and agony." he said further.

"I thought it was a nice subtle stab at organized mainstream belief systems. You know, the ones that are considered 'trendy' these days." he went on.

"But if you didn't bring them... who DID...?" he then wondered aloud.

"Indeed." the man responded.

"And that number keeps going up." he told her.

"There's certainly quite the variety here as well." he commented.

"Water paintings, oil paintings, acrylic paintings, some 3D work... but I have to say, the sculptures seem to be REALLY captivating many people." he told her.

"I thought you normally didn't do stonework." he added.

As she waved through some of the people, she was stopped by a colleague of hers. An older male, around his mid 50's, with greying hair, a matching beard and mustache, and glasses as well.

"Ah, Casey." he said to her when she came into speaking range.

"Trying to make your way around, I see." he chuckled.

"Yes, this is certainly quite the massive turnout." he commented further, looking around.

"But it should do wonders for your charity."

Sharp merely nodded in response.

"Very well." he told her.

With that, he left the lab and made his way back to his office, sitting down in his chair.

"....this is odd." he mumbled.

"Something like that shouldn't exist..." he said to himself.

"That's what I thought." Sharp responded.

"Try and get whatever you can." he told her.

"But given how old some of that is, it might be a bit difficult." he then sighed.

"Keep me posted." he said.

"Oh, and Aedan and Azazel might come and see you, seeing as they have more first-hand experience with the thing." he then added.

Hal just sighed.

"Well, if you know or watch Doctor Who, then it's best to describe that as a Weeping Angel, previously." he told her.

"But, in case you DO need more info, it was a statue that came to life and snapped Aedan's neck." he truncated.

"Took Azazel's strength and a sledgehammer to destroy it. And as he did, seems that that putrid red liquid was inside it, supposedly." he said further.

"I figure you and your team could do some tests on it." he went on.

"See if you can't get any DNA off of any of it."

Azazel just blinked a couple of times.

'Oh, right.' he thought.

'Geez, my head is NOT in the game...' he mentally scolded himself.

With that, he quickly hurried after Aedan, eager to join her.

Meanwhile, at the Unit, Hal had gone to the testing labs, where he was greeted by Kiah.

"Hello, Kiah." he greeted her.

"I assume you received the... odd package... I sent?" he asked.

"I'm here to answer any questions you may have about its origins."

Azazel smiled again, and returned the hug.

"I'm glad." he said.

"Like I said, it's something to bring up the mood after what just happened." he said further.

"And yeah, a shower would be a good idea." he reiterated.

"I feel I should take one as well." he reasoned.

"......" he was then silent, as his eyes shifted back and forth.

"Care to... not waste water?" he asked her, knowing she'd know where he was going with it.

Azazel just shrugged.

"I have my connections?" he responded.

"A little birdie told me?" he said further with a shrug.

"But seriously, that's my little secret." he then told her, making it clear he had NO intention of telling her that.

"Is it all right, though?" he asked.

"It's not an ACTUAL sonic screwdriver, obviously. But it's a very nice replica." he told her.

"And I managed to get Mister Smith to sign the certificate at a con that a nicked off to a bit ago." he added with a light chuckle.
