"MUCH better." Andrew responded.

"That paste works miracles, and I'm feeling back to my old self." he told her.

"Save for my hands, but that's tolerable now." he added.

"How's Luke?" he asked her. "I know HE'S probably suffered more than I." he said further.

"He going to be all right?"

"All right." Luke said.

"I'll just be laying here." he told her. "For the foreseeable future." he said further.

"..." he was then silent, before sighing quietly.

"Yeah. Just... sorry to pull you away from work." he apologised again.

"I'll be fine now. And obviously Dad will be, too."

"Good." Lucas responded.

"Now I don't need to worry about myself, and focus on worrying about Kelly." he chuckled.

"...and hope nobody attacks us." he added.

"But nobody has yet. I think we're under the radar." he reasoned.

"And I hope we continue to stay that way, same with Kelly."

He nodded in response.

"I can do that." he told her.

"...I WILL do that." he then clarified.

"Your words are as good as doctor's ordered here." he said further, and his tone made his clear that he was already feeling a LOT better.

"How's Dad?" he asked.

"I know he was in close contact with Kelly too."

"...wow." Lucas mumbled.

"That's saying something." he said.

"...it's alarming that it was that high, and I'm now surprised my burns are only THIS bad..." he then admitted.

"Mom?" he addressed her.

"Sorry for the sudden bother and bringing you out like this." he apologised.

"I know you're stressed and shit, for good reasons."

Lucas just sighed.

"Yeah. You're right. Kelly IS under the best care possible." he agreed.

"...and I'm severely burned?" he asked.

"I guess that shouldn't be a surprise... or... well, I mean... just... I can't believe she was radiating THAT kind of heat." he admitted.

"...fair enough." Lucas replied.

"I... I just... she seemed fine, maybe a little low on energy for the past few days, and then she... just collapsed." he told her.

"Out of nowhere, seemingly." he went on.

"...I hope she'll be okay." he continued.

"I want to be with her, I have to see her." he said further, and though Anna could see that Lucas wanted to move, she also saw in his eyes that he knew that would be a very bad idea, so he remained still, where he was.

After a minute or two, Lucas relaxed. Noticeably. He seemed to just 'melt' into the ground, and sighed quietly.

"Thank you." he said.

"I feel so much better already." he told her.

"How's Kelly, though?" he then asked her concernedly.

"Is she all right?" he asked further. "WILL she be all right?" he continued.

"...what happened to her...?"

Lucas was silent for a moment, before slowly oozing his way out of the pool... and Anna saw his hands, his arms, his entire torso, and the tops of his legs, his lap, essentially, were all burned.

He'd definitely got it worse than Andrew.

He then flopped onto his back, and she saw him wince in pain.

"....aaaaaahhhhh..." he groaned.

"Already feeling the sting."

Lucas was silent, before looking over towards her.

"...if I get out of this pool, I am in pain." he told his mother.

"Being in this pool is the only thing keeping me sane right now." he said further.

When Anna looked, she saw... MANY sprigs... of the aloe. There was a lot of them.

"Also, sorry the pond's being used for this." he then apologised.

"The tub seemed a bit... small."

Andrew let out a MASSIVE sigh of relief.

"Much better." he said.

"I think I should be fine now." he told her.

"And yep, he was holding Kelly right close to his body, for longer than I was holding her." he then said. "...then again, her temperature shot up alarmingly fast, so it's possible I was holding her when she was a lot warmer." he mumbled.

"Regardless, he's in the ice-aloe sprig infused pond outside." he stated again.

"You may want to check on him."

Andrew sighed and removed his shirt, and she saw that his arms had it, as did his upper chest. Not as bad as his hands, but it was noticeable.

"Just where you can see it." he told her.

"I'll tell you something, draconic heat and Fyrane heat? Hoooooly crap." he muttered.

"And yes, it IS quite painful." he confirmed.

"I just know making a fuss won't solve anything."

Andrew thought for a moment.

"I don't." he said.

"But some nitrobloom sounds delightful." he told her.

"I'm not sure if Lucas is going to require Fyrane help for himself or not." he then admitted. "He was holding onto Kelly for a lot longer, and refused to let go." he continued.

"Our son is sweet and romantic, but... well... an idiot, sometimes." he continued.

"Kinda like me when I fell in love with YOU." he added with a chuckle.

When she reached the ground floor, she stepped into the den, and saw Andrew sitting on the couch, ice packs on his hands and arms.

"Hey." he greeted her.

"Lucas is outside. Soaking in the backyard pond. I made sure to throw a good amount of ice-aloe sprigs in there, too." he told her.

"..." he was then silent, before sighing quietly.

"How's Kelly doing?" he asked.
