Nate opened his mouth to answer, when there was a knock on the door.

"It's open!" Angela called out.

The door opened, and they saw Uriel and Roxie standing there.

"She'll be fine." Uriel said preemptively.

"Out for a day or so, but fine."

"I don't either." Nate admitted.

"We're just... in the middle of all this." he said.

"All we can do is... help when we're called upon." he reasoned.

"...whatever we may be able to do." he then mumbled quietly.

"It's a little disheartening, yeah..."

"100% agree." Nate responded.

"...and I never thought I'd be alive to be in an era where a doomsday prophecy/myth became a reality." he said further.

"It's... unreal." he mumbled.

"But it seems ALL forces are gathering against them." he then reasoned.

"So at least we're all unified."

"Well, it's more he detests the entire situation, I suppose." he said.

"Like, Fallen are causing the world to go into chaos with mana and such, and he's all 'mana is nothing but trouble' blah blah blah." he explained.

"...I think this is just more stress upon stress upon stress for him..." he mumbled.

"But yeah, we're doing okay. For now. Somewhat." he said further, shaking his head again.

"I just want everything to go back to the way it was." he then told her.

"...I want the world to be right again. As right as it was, anyway..."

Nate took a sip of the tea, and sighed.

"We're... managing." he said.

"We're both pretty stressed about it." he told her.

"Uh... well, most of us are." he then said.

"Alicja is quite worried, Ebony is pessimistic about it, Cameron is freaking the FUCK out, and Rose... is quite nihilistic about it." he admitted.

"So I do what I can to keep Alicja calm. And in the front." he told her further.

"Rose often comes out if Alicja needs to take a time-out. She's the calmest about this, and doesn't bring everyone down around her."

Nate was silent as she said that, and nodded.

"Yes." he agreed.

"They're both very reliable and dependable." he told her.

"I'm sure she'll be just fine with the two of them tending to her." he assured the woman further.

"...are you all right?" he then asked.

"Things getting to you a bit, I suppose..." he then sighed, shaking his head slightly.

Uriel crossed his arms over his chest, and thought about it.

"She's a mortal, so we can't be too rough." he said.

"However, I know this mana. It's Casey Kiczys. One that has the mana of Anubis himself coursing through her veins." he then told her further. "And time IS of the essence." he reasoned.

"So I think us placing our palms onto her chest and syncing up, then literally yanking the mana out of her is the best option." he suggested.

"Any objections?"

Uriel looked over towards her.

"Roxanna." he said.

"And yes, a Fallen attack." he confirmed.

"Notable strike near the heart." he said further.

"And we both know an angel can't do it alone."

Ilias followed and started to peel off, when he stopped and looked back at her.

"For what it's worth, Zeke called me to tell you." he said.

"I asked why he couldn't himself, and he said it was because he needed to protect his Mom for the time being." he told her. "...and he then quickly added that his Dad was currently busy." he then added.

"So... yeah, I dunno." he shrugged.

"Sounded urgent, though."

She received a confirmation, as Uriel approached Casey and placed a hand on her chest.

"I can at least alleviate it SOME." he told them, as they waited for the arrival of a demon.

As she went through the files, there was a knock on the door of the room she was in, and a brown-haired male with some green hiding beneath said hair poked his head through the doorway.

"Hey?" he addressed her.

"Sorry to bother you, but... you're needed in the medical wing." he said.

"Says your mana's required to save a life."

Zeke had been about to head there himself, when he realised what all he had been told. He started putting the pieces together, before disappearing from where he was, and appearing at his parents' home. Finding them both there, he told them the situation and what he suspected. Uriel agreed with him and told him to stay with his mother until he got back. Once that was out of the way, the archangel disappeared from where he stood, appearing right in the waiting area of the medical wing, to which he then proceeded to make his way towards where Casey, Angela, and Nate were.

He stepped into the room and looked at Casey, shaking his head.

"He was right. She's a victim of a Fallen attack." he commented.

"If we want to do this right, we'll need a demon here as well." he told them. "We archangels, and demons as well, can defeat a Fallen on our own, but it takes a combined effort to remove a Fallen's mana influence." he continued.

"The mana is numbing her muscles. Including her heart."

Nate looked at Casey, and bit his lip.

"I... ah..." he stammered.

"Angel." he said.

"When it comes to saving a life, an angel's mana is... generally a safer go-to than a demon's." he told her. "Not that demons CAN'T heal, but... well, let's try the 'obvious' solution first." he reasoned.

"Or at least, a consultant that should know more about it."

Hal knew better than to argue with Angela at a time like this, and he was concerned about Casey as well, so he merely nodded quickly, and moved even more so, out of the room. As he left, he heard Nathan speak.

"...her heart." the medic responded.

"The pulses of her life-aura are slowing down." he told her.

"We don't have long. We need to get it pumping strongly again."

Hal did not waste any time. He immediately scooped Casey up in his arms, and they both disappeared from where they were, appearing in the room that Angela had specified. He laid her down on the bed, as Angela and Nate stepped into the room.

"Ah!" Nate exclaimed.

"We gotta work fast!" he told Angela.

"Her life-aura is still there, but it's weak and fading fast!"
