Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

"Hey, at least it's not worse." Lindsay said. "At least it seems like your life isn't in danger and all... whatever this is... has done is knock you on your ass." he told her further.

"You're entitled to be a LITTLE useless right now, after what you've gone through." he reasoned.

"And Ash and I will defend you with our LIVES if the Fallen come here." he declared, before pausing.

"...though I wonder if they've learned their lesson..." he mumbled.

"You DID get the better of them back there, after all."

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Lindsay crossed his arms over his chest and thought about it.

"Hm." he mumbled.

"I don't know what to say." he said. "Just... I... I don't." he repeated.

"This is just... darned weird, to understate it." he went on

"But does it feel like you're getting worse?" he asked.

"Or are you just sort of plateaued where you are NOW?"

...and I'll forgive thy

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

"Hm." Lindsay mumbled.

"Normally I'd say they shouldn't be able to do such a thing." he told her.

"...but I don't know if conventional knowledge is even worth anything anymore." he admitted, thinking about it.

"It... is IS possible." he went on.

"But... you'd think it'd be traceable. Or mana-based." he then said.

"Rene said the mana scan showed nothing, yeah?"

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Lindsay looked off to the side.

"...I'm managing." he told her.

"I mean... my wife is out there wandering Europe to try and hide from Fallen angels, my son is... well, he's been living his own life for a bit, but I hope he's okay, my daughter is with the vampires, probably constantly freaking out internally..." he listed off, getting more and more agitated as he went, before suddenly stopping and forcing himself to calm down.

"At least we're doing okay for now. I'm okay. I have to be." he told her.

"What about you?" he asked.

"You had an encounter with the Fallen. That couldn't have been pleasant, to understate it."

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Lindsay smiled when she said that.

"Of course." he replied.

He quickly rose from his seat, made his way to the kitchen, grabbed a bottle of said water, and paused as he looked at it, sighing quietly.

"...I really hope this doesn't get worse..." he mumbled, before making his way back and handing her the beverage.

"Here y'go." he said.

"There anything else I can do for you right now?" he asked. "Or are you content to drink the water and just... well... be there for now?"

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

"Probably within the hour." Lindsay replied.

"He's going to talk with Cass and ask her to watch out for Casey." he told her.

"So shouldn't be long." he concluded.

"At least your injuries healed." he then said to her, sitting across from her.

"Though it IS odd that you're seemingly unwell." he commented. "That rarely happens." he said further.

"Do you want a drink, or something to eat?" he asked.

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

"...oof." he mumbled.

"Am I EVER glad I know how to shut up and read a situation." he said to himself, stepping back inside and shutting the door.

'At least Ashleigh's gonna be okay.' he thought, walking deeper into the manor.

'What the hell happened, though...?' he then wondered. 'She was attacked by a Fallen, but... something seemed... off...' he realised.

"But... what?" he asked himself.

"Surely there's more to this than a Fallen attack..."

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Ash just sighed heavily.

"Thank goodness." he said.

"That is a MASSIVE relief." he told her.

"Thanks for telling me." he said further, pausing for a moment to think about something as she looked at him.

"...I'd ask if you want one of those vitamin waters I make that you like so much, but... something tells me that that might be one of the farthest things from your mind right now..." he mumbled.

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Just as she said that, the door swung open.

"WHA-" Ash started to ask in an annoyed tone, before he noticed who was there.

And he calmed down. Immediately.

"Oh, uh, Anna." he said.

"Sorry about that." he apologised, before noticing how... antsy... she looked.

"Right, what's up?" he asked.

"And feel free to be as succinct as you need to be."

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Rene just sighed.

"Yeah, yeah, go on before you kill someone that doesn't deserve it." he told her.

"And yeah, might as well tell Ash we've stabilised her." he then said. "Tell him that if her condition doesn't worsen, she can be released for homecare and bedrest in as little as a week." he said further.

"Because the injuries were dealt with pretty competently, if I do say so myself." he reasoned.

"So no worries on THAT front." he continued.

"But I digress, go on and scram before there's trouble."

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Rene looked over towards her, and sighed.

"The injuries should heal, but... it seems like she's under the weather?" he commented.

"Strange, as she rarely gets sick." he said further.

"I mean, it's happened before, but... it's always strange when ASHLEIGH gets sick, of all people." he continued.

"But we got her out of the woods as far as he injuries went, and seems like she'll survive." he shrugged, shaking his head.

"Ash got her here just in the nick of time."

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Ash acted quickly. As quickly as he could. He lifted her up in his arms, and disappeared with her in a black burst of flames, appearing in the incoming teleporting area of OLA. Once there, medics quickly tended to her, and she was soon in a hospital room, in a bed, with her injuries patched up as best as the medics there could do. Which was pretty damn good, considering Rene personally led the efforts.

However, her temperature was still high, even for her. Which made him a bit concerned.

"Hm." he mumbled.

'Well, we've done what we can for her at the moment.' he thought.

"All we need to do now is monitor her and wait for her to wake up." he muttered further.

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

my little jokes on thee...

When they'd parted ways, Ty couldn't help but feel a little worried for Casey. But he knew he had other things to concentrate on. So he pushed it out of his mind and continued on with what he needed to do, as Casey disappeared into the world.

---

Ash had gotten fed up with waiting. Ashleigh hadn't come back yet, and nobody had heard from her. He was feeling a lot better, as it didn't hurt to move any longer, and that was enough for him.

He was going to find her.

With the orb that Casey had left for them telling him she was still in that mountain range, he made his way there, and started to look for her. About an hour into the search, he suddenly came across strange feathers. Feathers that sent a chill down his spine. Normally angel feathers disintegrated into nothing when they were touched, or hit the ground, but Fallen feathers lingered for a bit... slowly decaying. And he found decaying feathers. With large traces of blood.

"...no..." he whispered, as he hastened his search, becoming more frantic.

After another 5 minutes, he came across Ashleigh; motionless and seemingly lifeless, laying on the ground.

"No!" he yelled, racing over towards her.

"Ashleigh!?" he exclaimed, kneeling down and checking her over.

Ty just smirked.

"It'll take more than a Fallen or two to keep ME down!" he declared confidently.

The rest of the flight was spent with idle chatter, some eating, and some napping as well. Casey had just woken up from a nap, when Ty spoke to her.

"Perfect timing." he said. "We're almost there. We'll be landing in about 20 minutes." he said further. "So sit down and buckle up." he went on.

"Have a nice nap?" he then asked.
