Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Hal thought again for a moment.

"Well... all right." he said.

"To address your questions in order." he said further, taking a small breath.

"I use that term because I have no idea what it was. I can't even call it a CREATURE, as I've never seen or heard of anything like it before, or since." he told her. "And the thing in question consumed Tyson's wife's soul. It ate it. Before his very eyes." he continued.

"Which is what caused him to undergo the ritual to become a Regenerator, seek out the thing, and then proceeded to mutilate it until... it... ah... well... hm." he then muttered further. "It looked like a weird snake-maggot, from what he told me. And... when he was done with it, it was a mess of... mass." he commented.

"As for WHEN it happened... maybe about... 350? 400? I'll say 400ish years ago." he then answered her last question.

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Hal paused as she asked her question, thinking about it.

"Ah.... hm." he mumbled.

"Good question." he admitted as they walked.

He then proceeded to list off a few agents that had loose lips, before something occurred to him.

"...and Ty." he then realised.

"He's been doing so well... an event like this could trigger his PTSD to the point where he could revert to how he was when that... that... ENTITY... took his wife's soul from him." he informed her.

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

"I agree on that front." Hal responded.

"That being said, your health and safety, and stability, is important as well." he told her.

"We need to make sure YOU are still around. It will mean nothing to bring your partner back, if something happens to you." he went on, before pausing and thinking about it for a moment.

"...it's a good thing practically nobody knows the balance of this world, and its very stability, hinges on 2 people..." he commented.

"The chaos would be... unthinkable."

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

"So let's go." he replied, before they left the office.

"Hold my calls and appointments." he said to his receptionist.

"At least until I get back. I'm escorting this young lady to the medical bay, myself." he said further.

"I shouldn't be long." he then promised.

"If an emergency crops up, message my cell phone."

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

"This takes precedence." Hal responded.

"THIS is top priority." he told her.

"Yes, we need to try and find a way to stop this from happening, but... making sure nothing happens to YOU, so that this doesn't happen IMMEDIATELY, is very important, too." he told her further.

"And you really do seem like you're bleeding badly. Not alarmingly, but... enough." he continued.

"As you said, you don't process pain like others. Which is... by design..." he then went on.

"But... for all we know, you need stitches."

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

"Right then." Hal responded.

"I will escort you to the medical wing, myself." he told her.

"Come on." he then said.

"You are bleeding, and should be looked at." he continued.

"...to have something happen to YOU now would just further compound problems..." he then mumbled.

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Hal nodded in response.

"Done deal." he said.

He checked something on his screen, before searching in a filing cabinet and handing her a keycard, as well as a badge on a lanyard.

"Here." he told her.

"Key to the dorm you'll be staying in, and identification." he said further.

"...do you require medical assistance?" he then asked.

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Hal just sighed.

"You both do." he said. "...did..." he muttered.

"Whatever." he then said.

"Do you want or need to stay here in the meantime?" he asked. "Or is there something else you need to be doing?" he asked her.

"Because right now, stopping the prophecy is TOP priority." he stated.

"We don't have long before things start to unravel."

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Hal leaned forward and buried his eyes in his hands.

"Greeeeat." he said. "So unless we get him back, this world is legitimately doomed." he muttered.

"This world. This realm. Whatever. Everything. Even heaven and hell aren't safe from this." he growled.

"I am going to do everything I CAN to stop this from happened." he then told her.

"...though, admittedly, my capabilities to bring back those that are dead will be... questionable, considering your partner is... was... FAR from human..." he then mumbled further.

"But I intend to find a way to MAKE it so I can do this." he promised.

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

"Amelia Hollister...?" Hal asked. "The one that helped me move into my home...?" he asked further, before shaking his head slightly, turning his attention to... more pressing matters.

"What do you mean it will come to fruition?" he asked.

"Why?" he asked her.

"Your existence is supposed to indefinitely HOLD OFF that prophecy." he said further. He then paused again as he looked at the state she was in.

"...I assume it has to do with your current state of health and wellness? Physically speaking, anyway?"

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Hal was stunned for a moment, before shaking his head.

"Right." he said.

"I DO know my prophecies." he told her. "Quite well." he continued.

"But... who ARE you?" he asked.

"And how do you know me?" he asked further.

"You ring a vague bell of familiarity, but... but how? And why?"

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

"What the...?" he muttered.

"How did...?" he started to ask, but she was gone.

He was silent, before buzzing Hal and letting him know she was on her way.

She continued on her way, uninterrupted, surprisingly enough, and when she reached the receptionist's office, the woman there merely gestured for her to enter.

"Agent Sharp is aware that you are coming." she said.

"Knock and enter."

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

my little jokes on thee...

"......." Jake was silent for a moment.

"Right then." he said.

"It's... clear there are... much bigger things going on than my brain can comprehend." he told her.

"So... yeah, come in." he said further.

"Do you need directions?' he asked.

"Or need some help getting to the boss?"

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

The guard was silent for a moment, before poking his head out from atop the newspaper.

"...good heavens." he said, seeing the state she was in.

"Are you all right?" he asked her, before she heard a 'sst'-like sound. And then she saw the guard recoil a little, before setting the paper down.

"Right." he mumbled.

"Something tells me you DON'T have an appointment." he commented.

"But still. Name, please?" he asked her, digging out a clipboard and looking at the list on the page.

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.
