Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

"Ah..." Levi started to say, before pausing.

"Wait, please." he said.

"Can we have a chat?" he asked her.

"Whether it be right now, or later?" he asked further.

"I... I have some questions for you, if that's okay." he told her.

"A few. Well... more than a few..." he then admitted.

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Levi was... stunned. To say the least. He paused for a moment, almost like he was listening for something... and then looked at her.

"They... they shut up." he said.

"They... actually shut up." he restated.

"Oh my good lord, THANK YOU." he then told her.

"They were screaming so loudly at me." he continued, and she saw the tear streaks down his cheeks.

"I felt like I was going to pass out."

great big one on me.

Levi didn't answer her. Not in a verbal way anyway. Not right away. Instead, she saw him grasp at the sides of his head, practically having a death grip on his hair, and hang his head a bit low.

"...I..." he stammered.

"Sorry... headache. Massive. Screaming headache." he told her, and she could hear the pain and tears in his voice.

"...ngh..." he mumbled.

"You... you should... probably get away." he then told her. "When I start to get headaches THIS bad... it's not a fun time for anyone." he warned her further... and she then swore she heard him mumble something else.

Something in a language that only SHE understood. It was... mostly nonsense, but she understood it. Thankfully, it seemed nobody else had heard him, and she could see him almost shaking slightly now.

great big one on me.

my little jokes on thee...

Nate paused for a moment, and shook his head.

"This place is... unique." he said.

"We have all kinds here." he told her.

---

Levi just sighed as he sat at the end of the table, drinking some of the smoothie he had.

"....damn it." he mumbled.

"They're noisy today." he muttered further, taking a bit of his pizza.

"Maybe I should take the day off..."

my little jokes on thee...

As the three of them walked, Nate sighed.

"That's one way to put it." he said.

"I'd state it another way, but... I don't want anyone around to panic." he whispered to Alicja.

"Let's just say her aura is... as familiar as it is unfathomable." he told her further. "And she just helped tone it down a little, in terms of how I perceive it." he added.

He wondered if she'd know what he meant. If she did, then that was all the better. If not, she'd talk to him privately later.

But this woman had an extremely similar aura to Rebecca and Levi.

"Having an extra pair of hands on deck is always useful." Nate responded.

"And I have some free time." he then said.

"Unless James is here." he added.

"He's out running an errand." Alicja told him.

"Then I'm free until he gets back." Nate responded.

"I need to ask him a question about the latest shipment we got in."

"No, no, it's fine." Nate assured her.

"We didn't know this was coming." he said.

"I'll try to build up a tolerance and be able to brace myself, but it looks like you're injured." he then commented, noticing the blood.

"..." he was then silent, before thinking about it.

"Alicja, if you want help, I think I'll be okay around this woman now." he told Alicja.

"My mind's already starting to put up barriers and such, if that makes sense."

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Nate shook his head a little, before looking at her.

"Y-yeah." he said.

"A LOT better." he told her.

"Thanks." he continued, before pausing.

"I... I should go." he then said.

"Odds are I need you to be out of my line of sight before this... 'counter'... ends."

"Very well." Hal replied.

"See you later." he told Mackenzie, before leaving the area.

The two women then started to walk towards an examination room, when Nate rounded the corner.

"Hey, have you seen-" he started to ask, looking at a paper in his hands, before looking up towards them, seeing them, and then pausing.

He then went dead silent, as his pupils started to SERIOUSLY dilate, as he stood there, stunned. Still.

"Even if the tides DID rise, and they DID come to this level... they couldn't really handle it." Hal shrugged. "They're really not equipped to deal with stuff up here, and just want to be left alone." he reasoned.

"But I digress." he said further.

"Once you're done here, feel free to head to the dorm I assigned you when you can be released." he told her.

"I have things to get done. NOW." he went on.

"Anything else before I go?" he asked. "Either of you?"

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Hal raised an eyebrow.

"If I did that, I'd be a hypocrite." he told her. "I've heard everything in my life. It'd take a herculean load of bull to get me to kick someone out for 'being insane'." he said further.

"...come to think of it, I've only done it a handful of times." he continued.

"Latest being someone that was certain that the moon was alive and willing itself out of orbit to change the ocean tides and cause flooding, to help the hidden deep-sea ramaarin race that apparently exists come into our cities and steal our poultry." he recalled.

"...and yes, they were legitimately off their medication." he added.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Hal paused as she said that, and narrowed his eyes.

"I'll get right on that." he told her as they reached the medical bay. Once there, he looked around, before clearing his throat and approaching Alicja as he saw her walk by.

"Excuse me." he said.

"I have someone here that requires medical attention." he told her.

"Please try and tend to her ASAP." he continued.

"I have some urgent business to take care of." he finished.

Hal shook his head.

"Indeed." he said.

"It's... this is just a damn mess." he growled.

"So. We need to save this world. In the grandest way possible, even though nobody will know." he commented.

"...pretty much sums up The Unit." he then said with a small chuckle.

"But first we need to make sure that body isn't going to give out on you."

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Hal paused for a moment, looking at when she side-stepped.

"Guess someone dropped a mana-crystal." he commented, picking it up. "I'll have to see if the lab's missing one or something." he continued, pocketing it, and then clearing his throat lightly.

He then looked at her calmly... though she could see that he was... not impressed, to criminally understate it.

"And that's just not acceptable, in regards to agent King." he told her.

"He is, quite frankly, one of my best friends in this entire world. Actually, he probably IS my best friend." he continued.

"I refuse to let this happen, if nothing else, because Tyson allowed his wife's soul to properly move on... alongside all the others that were still inside it." he reasoned.
