"Ah, right." Darrell said, stepping out of the room.

"...want me to request anything?" he asked.

"Yes, this is all about me and stuff, but you want me to slip in something for you?" he asked further.

"Just tell me." he said as they walked.

"If so, what?" he asked her.

"I'll find a way to work it in." he chuckled.

Darrell laughed again, but looked happy.

Genuinely happy.

"I'm glad." he said.

"You guys made me feel like I really belonged here." he told her.

"I still feel that way." he went on.

"It's nice to have a second home." he continued.

"I really should find a way to thank y'all." he finished.

"....." Darrell was silent as he heard this.

"Well. Nice to know my terror and uncertainty made someone money, I suppose." he said.

"Anyway, I think I'm... almost ready." he continued.

He walked over towards Sammy, and slipped his hands onto her waist.

"Just lemme know when you'll be moving in." he told her.

"I'll make sure to have a welcoming party for you." he smirked.

Ryker just smiled.

"Well, that's really good." he said.

"Seriously, that's awesome." he told him.

"The fact that you're not scared any longer is a real help." he continued.

"Do you think you want to actually try swimming now?" he asked.

"Or work up to it?"

"Heh, fair point." Darrell replied.

"I'm really glad I stayed here." he told her.

"I met you... your brother, your cousin... everyone here is great." he said.

"And even Kitt likes me now." he went on.

"And THAT is an accomplishment." he laughed.

"I didn't think she'd EVER truly get used to me." he admitted.

"....hm." Darrell mumbled.

"That... IS fair." he admitted.

"Well, if you want to, then sure. Let's do it." he told her.

"You gonna get some of your stuff ready?" he asked.

"Or is this just gonna be a trickling-in thing?" he asked further.

"Just so I know."

Darrell was silent for a moment, before possibilities started to flood into his mind.

And she SAW him getting flustered.

"I... uh..." he stammered.

"I mean, I... wouldn't be... AGAINST it." he told her. "Not in the slightest..." he mumbled candidly.

"But... would your parents be okay with it?" he asked.

"I know they can be a tad... overprotective..."

Darrell just looked over towards her and sighed quietly, smiling slightly as well.

"I know." he said.

"But to be fair, this was never meant to be permanent, anyway." he reminded her.

"Though I admit, I HAVE gotten quite used to this place." he then admitted further.

"But... well... I gotta be moving on with my life." he continued.

"...which... is to say... post-secondary education." he clarified.

"Not being able to see you every day is going to be torture, though." he added, shaking his head a little.

Darrell took the blanket out of the satchel and spread it out... which caused it to fluff up slightly, so it would be more comfortable.

"Huh. Neat." he commented.

The two then sat down and he smiled.

"Well, is he wrong?" he asked.

"I could totally see us being up here until it starts to get dark." he told her.

"Or until someone comes looking for us, whichever comes first."

"I'll bet it isn't." Darrell responded, as they made their way to the roof.

Once they were there, Darrell looked into the satchel.

"Huh." he said.

"There's some snacks in here." he commented.

"Some chips and sweets and stuff." he continued. "And a trash bag for garbage." he went on.

"...and a blanket as well." he added.

"Heh." the demon chuckled.

"Well done." he said.

"Looks like you're finally grasping who you are." he finished.

"Later." he then said, before control switched back.

"Right, so..." Ryker muttered.

"Have a nice chat with him?" he asked Eke.

Darrell made sure he had everything, and nodded.

"Got it." he replied.

With that, Sammy left and he started to follow, before Ash handed him a small satchel with some things in it.

"Here. For when you're up there." he said.

"Ah, thank you." Darrell responded, before hurrying to catch up to Sammy.

"Let's hope nothing crashes into you again." he told her with a small laugh.

Ash just laughed as Darrell accepted the drink.

"Oh yeah, the bird that crashed into you should be fine." he told her.

"Just gotta wait until it wakes up, and it should be able to fly on its own when it does." he continued.

"The injuries were simple to take care of, just exactly in the wrong place for it to sustain flight." he shrugged.

"And you're welcome." he then said further.

"I do what I can to make things easier for people."

Darrell was silent for a moment, thinking about it.

"Cherry cola." he told her.

"I love it." he said.

Ash just laughed a little.

"And you're my favourite niece." he told her.

"My #1, favourite niece, second to none." he added.

'....isn't she his ONLY niece...?' Darrell wondered silently.
