Darrell just sighed heavily, and walked over to Ashleigh.

"Y'all acting like I'm disappearing to another world." he said.

"Thanks to mana, I can be across town or across the world, yet we can still see each other within seconds." he told them.

"Don't rely on it too much." Jaden warned.

"I know, I know." Darrel said in response.

"I'm good to go." he told Ashleigh.

"Love you!" he then said to Jaden, Desiree, and Jordan as a whole.

"I'll call when we hit land!"

Jaden shook his head.

"Naw." he replied.

He then approached Darrell and they gasped hands in a handshake, before Jaden pulled him into a hug.

"Take care, son." he said.

"...thanks, Dad." Darrell replied.

They then broke the embrace, and Darrell made his way to Desiree once more, hugging her again.

"Love you, Mom." he told her.

Darrell smiled at her when she said she needed her big brother to protect her, and nodded.

"I'll always be there to protect you." he told her.

"No worries there." he assured her further.

Jaden looked at Ashleigh, and smirked.

"Fair enough." he said.

"Don't run him TOO ragged." he told her.

"Make sure he works off those calories from Ash's dishes." he added.

Darrell approached Jordan and looked at her for a second, before smiling lightly.

"I'll miss you, too." he told her.

"But if you need me, I'm just a portal away from you." he reminded her.

"Oh, yeah!" he then said, seemingly remembering something.

"I left something for you on your bed earlier." he told her. "Somethin' that I know you'll like." he added.

Jaden and Jordan were confused about this, but Desiree wasn't. Darrell was leaving behind his good pair of headphones. Ones with unmatched audio quality and padding. Jordan had used them in the past and practically fell in love with them, borrowing them often.

"...for now..." he continued, trailing off for a second, before wrapping his arms around her and lifting her up in a hug.

"Love ya, sis!" he exclaimed with a smile.

"Hey, Ashleigh!" Darrell responded.

"And hell yeah, I do!" he exclaimed.

"Sounds like a blast!" he said.

Jaden just laughed.

"So you're already headed out on your own." he said.

"I'd say that you're leaving too early, but I'M one to talk!" he added with another laugh... and unknowingly showed Desiree and Ashleigh just how much he'd moved on from his past, and had forgiven himself.

"Keep in contact, at least." he told him.

"You know I will." Darrell responded with a light chuckle.

Darrell nodded.

"Yup." he said.

"Pretty sure I got it all." he told her.

"Ready to go." he went on, going and grabbing the suitcase, as well as his backpack.

"Let's go." he said.

"Dad and Jor will be waiting for us there, yeah?" he asked.

Darrell just smiled.

"I know." he said.

He then made his way towards her, and gave her a hug.

"And I appreciate it." he told her.

"I love you, Mom." he said.

"Always and forever." he continued.

"You know it." he added with a chuckled.

The phone was ringing for... a bit longer than she liked, before it was answered.

But not by Sydney. It was Nico that had answered it.

"Hey Desiree." he said, having looked at the ID. "Sydney's making coffee and left her phone in the den. I was closeby, so I answered it." he told her.

"What's up?" he asked. "News on Jordan?" he asked further.

Desiree just smirked, knowing they both would love to hear this.

Darrell just sighed as she asked her question, shutting his suitcase and latching it shut.

"I'm sure." he said.

"It's not that I don't like it here." he told her.

"Just wanna... go out into the world on my own, you know?" he continued.

"Not like I'm leaving permanently." he added.

She was waiting for close to a minute, before she received a text.

Darrell and I are going to concentrate on being with Jordan. he sent.

Odds are Rene's already telling Kalin as well. he then sent further.

So if you want to, feel free to tell Mom and Dad. he added.

That gave her all the info she needed.

She would be responsible for spreading the good word to those that were closest to them in their circle of friends and family.

Darrell nodded.

"Right." he said.

He then walked... albeit quickly... towards the house.

Desiree sent a text to Jaden saying that Darrell wanted to go with him, and she received a response immediately.

I'll wait for him, then. he sent.

I have her phone and tablet, just getting the cords and headphones she'll want as well. the next text read.

Darrell immediately perked up when he heard that.

"Yeah!" he exclaimed.

"That means she's feeling better!" he continued.

"Let's go!" he said, started to run for the house, but tripping over his own feet and landing on his front.

"...owwww..." he groaned.

"Maybe I should just walk..." he said, slowly getting to his feet again.

Jaden just smiled.

Well, the hospital called to tell us that our daughter "will do the dishes for a week" if we bring her her phone or tablet, to stop her from "not being bored to tears". he then sent her.

He laughed again, before getting up to grab both items.

I'm going to get them now. he continued.

He knew Desiree would be happy to read the first text.

And he knew she'd want to tell Darrell as well.

Jaden paused for a moment, before collapsing into a nearby chair.

He was silent, before letting out a chuckle... which then turned into a full-blown laugh.

"That sounds like her, all right!" he exclaimed.

"I'll stop by within the hour with some things for her." he told them.

"Thank you very much." he continued, before the conversation was ended and he hung up.

"...heh." he chuckled again.

Desiree, news on Jordan. he then sent to his wife.

Immediately, he was alert.

"Yes?" he responded.

"Yes, what is it?" he asked.

"Is there further development?" he asked further.

"Good or bad?" he continued.

'Please be good, please be good, please be good...' he then pleaded internally.

He was also making note to tell Desiree this... ASAP... whatever was said.
