Liam was feeling very proud of himself.

There was nothing that anyone could do now.

He'd destroyed her phone thoroughly once they'd gotten to where they were, so there was no way they'd be found.

He was confident in that.

Meanwhile, Hal was speaking to two of his agents in his office.

"...understand?" he asked, having briefed them on their mission.

"Get to Anaheim, track her down, and SAVE her."

Liam, meanwhile, was watching her from a closed-circuit system, and smirking.

'Yes..." he said.

"Yes, allow them to seep into you..." he went on.

"You are the perfect vessel. You connect with them." he continued.

"You're... a perfect match." he commented further.

He then sighed, and shook his head.

"I almost set the world on fire for you... but it was worth it." he finished in a contented tone.

Cain nodded.

"Of course." he replied.

"Let's get this cleaned up." he told her.

They then started to finish up the job, and Cain suddenly looked like he had an idea.

"...wait..." he said.

"I... I'm not a medic, but... if we can learn the nature of her injury, then... maybe I can come up with something to help." he suggested.

"MAYBE." he stressed.

"I understand." Cain replied.

"....I really wish there was something I could do to help." he told her.

"But... I can't think of anything." he admitted.

"I really hope you get to go see her at the very least." he went on.

"...and I hope even more that she pulls through."

Cain just sighed and made his way to her, sitting down beside her.

"....yeah." he said quietly.

"I know." he muttered.

"Maybe... maybe your Dad can pull some strings to get you to see her." he then said.

"...maybe..." he mumbled.

"This damn modern-day Salem shows no signs of slowing down..."

Cain's mouth almost dropped open from hearing that.

"Wh... what?" he asked.

"Oh... I... that..." he stammered.

"Holy cow..." he muttered.

"I... who would...?" he started to wonder, before just shaking his head.

"I'm sure she'll make it." he told her.

"Your Mom's crazy strong and super resilient."

Cain was shocked at the embrace, but quickly returned it.

"H-hey..." he said.

"Hey, what's wrong?" he asked.

"I know we made a mess, but you'd think your Dad would be used to it." he went on.

"Did we ruin something important?" he asked.

"Or was this a 'straw that broke the camel's back' sorta thing?" he asked further.

"Love you too, sweetie." Hal replied before she left.

He then sighed deeply, and looking at the computer screen.

"...who to send, though...?" he wondered.

Cain, meanwhile, had almost finished up cleaning, when Lunet returned.

"Hey." he greeted her.

"Everything all right?" he asked.

"No." Hal replied, shaking his head.

"You can run along now." he told her.

"Remember to take your smoothie with you." he reminded her.

"I have... some serious work to get done, now." he continued.

"Thank you once more." he finished.

He then sat down in his chair, and started to look through personnel files.

Hal looked at the computer screen as well, and narrowed his eyes.

"Anaheim." he said.

"Hmmm." he mumbled.

"I'll have to get people to the location ASAP." he went on.

"Thank you, Lunet." he then said to his daughter.

"Once again, you prove to be invaluable."

Hal nodded.

"I know." he replied.

He then leaned in close to his daughter, and wrapped his arms around her, holding her close.

"Your mother's strong." he said.

"She'll fight." he went on.

"And I'm sure she'll pull through." he continued.

"We just need to have faith."

Hal was stunned that the words escaped her lips so easily an so quickly.

And he sighed.

"...I can't guarantee that." he told her.

"This is a situation where I won't even know if I've made a difference." he admitted.

"But I'll try." he said.

"I will desperately try to grant that wish." he continued.

With that, he raised his hand, pressed his fingers together... and snapped.

"....." Hal was silent again, but shook his head.

"It's... your mother." he said.

"There... there was an assassination attempt." he told her.

"She's not dead!" he quickly assured her. "But... it looks like it's touch-and-go right now." he went on.

"...Lunet, I don't know what's going to happen." he said further.

"But... you deserve to know this." he continued.

"You're old enough."

"....good." Hal replied.

"That's good." he said.

"The phone is on the move, so perhaps we may find her." he reasoned.

"......" he was then silent, and sighed.

"So it's all automatic from here?" he asked.

"Mmhmm." Lunet confirmed.

"...I have something to say, then." he continued.

"And... you're not going to like what it is."
