"...EAT you!?" Darrell exclaimed.

"Eat us." Evan confirmed.

"That's... horrifying." Darrell said.

"Apparently Mom was finally able to beat some sense into her." Evan then said.

"But yeah, this place is... weird." he sighed.

"Anyway, Sammy, odds are you should go to your room and wait." he told her.

"...want me to smokescreen Mom, Dad, Aunt Ashleigh and Uncle Ash?" he asked.

"In case they come looking for you or want to check up on you?"

Evan responded for her, and they waited again.

And then there was a response.

"...your room." Evan said.

"5 minutes." he told her.

"....oh, yeah." he then said. "Is Kitt still in your room?" he asked. "Or was she when you woke up?" he clarified.

"She was there a lot while you were out of it." he went on.

"...surprisingly, she wasn't growling much at Darrell whenever he walked by." he added.

"I didn't want to push my luck and poke my head in to see if things were all right." Darrell admitted.

"I'll take the fact that she's not directly hostile to me anymore." he reasoned.

"....huh. I see." Darrell responded.

It was at that point, she got a response from Rene.

"...he'll be here in 5 minutes." Evan said to her.

"And he says he wants to talk to you out of earshot of any adults." he continued.

"....make of that what you will." he then mumbled.

"Oh, and he's also asking WHERE to meet in the house." he added.

Darrell was still silent for a moment, before shaking his head.

"Woah, woah, woah." he said.

"Hold on." he said further.

"Scholarship?" he asked.

"Your run?" he asked further, before thinking about it a little.

"Oh... huh." he mumbled.

"You do more marathons, sprints, what?" he asked her.

Evan almost jumped when she made her exclamation.

"Ah!" he yelled.

"All right, all right!" he said.

He dug out his phone and handed it to her, with her hastily snatching it from him.

Darrell was a bit surprised and taken aback as well.

'Woah.' he thought.

'The hell did THIS come from?' he wondered.

@lilykin: Yeah... yeah, I think you're right on all that.

Especially Gaia.

I remember a video talking about it, and Gaia underwent new management that didn't know how to properly maintain a community, and the dollar signs in their eyes blinded them, essentially.

"Nice to properly meet you, too." Darrell replied.

"And... well, I have a number of things I like, I suppose." he then admitted.

"I mean, I like surfing the internet, I like tinkering with coding and stuff..." he went on.

"Training's cool, too." he continued.

"Though I need to get back at it." he admitted.

"Keep it up and stuff." he went on.

"Focus on cardio, probably."

Darrell nodded and made his way to the oven, turning it on and making sure it was empty. When he saw that it was, he set it to a decent temperature, and prepped a baking sheet for the pizza.

"Yeah, anyway..." he muttered.

"Just to reintroduce myself, I'm Darrell." he told her.

"Darrell Sherwood." he said fully.

"I'm going to be staying with you guys for a while." he continued.

"It's awesome!" Evan exclaimed.

"Hm." Evan muttered.

"Well, that's good? I guess?" he went on.

"At least you'll heal." he reasoned.

Darrell was silent for a moment, before looking between Sammy and the kitchen.

"You gonna eat the pizza? And if so, cold or hot?" he asked her.

"I can fire up the oven for you to get it heated up if you want." he offered.

Darrell was silent as she lifted her shirt, and couldn't help the light pink that his cheeks were turning.

Evan didn't notice this, however, focusing on the bandages.

"Woah." he said.

"That's nuts." he told her.

"Like... seriously. Wow." he muttered further.

"Is that worrisome?" he then asked.

"Should you... I dunno, ask someone about that?"

Darrell... wasn't entirely sure what to make of Sammy's deadpan attitude and almost curt statements.

But he wasn't going to lie... he didn't NOT like it.

However, before he could get TOO lost in that, he registered what all she said to him.

"Oh, you're welcome." he replied.

"I'm glad I could help." he told her.

"That thing was vicious, though." he continued.

"I found you in just the nick of time."

@Lilykin: Well, we try our best to keep that balance.

And yeah, Gaia's suffering from bloat. Just... overall. A shame, really. Collecting just isn't fun when collectibles come out so fast that you feel like you'll never keep up.

"Yup!" Evan replied.

"Homemade pizza!" he told her.

"Uncle Ash made it!" he said further.

Darrell just chuckled.

"It IS pretty damn good." he said.

"Best pizza I've ever had." he went on.

"But yeah, there's plenty in the fridge."

Evan shook his head.

"No." he replied.

"You didn't." he said.

"Sorry." he then apologised.

"I didn't know you were up and about." he admitted.

"Darrell and I were fighting, and I ended up getting thrown over here." he went on.

"Sparring, technically." Darrell corrected him.

"Are you feeling all right?" he then asked Sammy.
