"Oh, shut up." Levi growled to him.

"It's bad enough that I'm torn from my friends and loved ones, kept in this miserable place, and having people forcefully invade my mind." he told him.

"ADD to the hell I'm enduring!?" he exclaimed.

"Whatever the ever-living fuck she decides to do, it'll make it worse for me, because THEY will undo it!" he went on.

"And every time THEY get to undo what's done, they come closer and closer to actually getting control over me!" he continued.

"Being treated like the king of the world? Fuck off." he then said, tears continuing to roll down his cheeks.

"If being king of the world means having my sanity be slowly eroded by interdimensional beings, because some damn elf wants to keep trying to put some mark on me, then dethrone me NOW!" he exclaimed.

"...actually, just kill me!" he then said, looking around frantically.

"I'll do it, myself! I'd rather DIE than let THEM take over my mind!" he finished, looking at them again.

And as he did do, his eyes flashed a dark shade... and the two of them could only describe the sensation they felt upon witnessing it as 'staring into the abyss... and it suddenly stared back, in the most literal sense'.

Levi sunk when he heard that.

"Great." he said.

"This is just great." he growled.

"..." he was then silent, before looking at them.

"Well... thanks for... the water and untying me, I guess." he then said.

"....and leave a mark?" he then asked.

".....ah. I see." Levi replied.

"Well... she wasn't wrong." he said.

"I was miserable. Still am." he mumbled.

"Albeit, very slightly LESS so right now." he sighed.

He then looked at the two, before sighing again.

"So." he said.

"What happens to me NOW?" he asked.

The both of them could tell that this info was distressing Levi.

"...that's not right..." he said.

"I mean, I might not understand all of this, but..." he mumbled, before looking at them.

"...so... why are you here?" he asked.

"Were you sent to do what Brie... or Ebony... or whatever... couldn't?" he asked her.

"...and why did you untie me?" he then inquired further.

Levi's eyes widened.

"....oh..." he said.

"I... but..." he stammered.

"What are they going to do?" he asked.

"The original still needs her body." he said. "She can't just live on as a spirit attached to me..." he went on.

"Damn it, damn it, damn it." he cursed.

"Are they going to kill... whoever's there?" he asked.

"ALL of them?" he asked further.

"What if they don't deserve it? Surely not ALL the souls are bad, or under her control?" he went on.

Ryker just sighed and smiled as Eke fell asleep again.

"Heh." he chuckled.

"Go ahead and sleep, Eke." he said.

A few hours later, he happened upon a place with a drive-up, that offered fish and chips. He ordered an extra large portion for Eke, and an order for himself.

He then paid, and parked in one of the parking spaces, waiting for the meal.

In no time, the smell of fish and fries filled the vehicle, and he knew it would wake Eke up.

"But... but she's gone." Levi replied.

"I mean, when she invaded my head, she died." he said.

"For... uh... reasons..." he mumbled.

"But the one that was taken away, she's not... I mean... it wasn't 'her'..." he went on, before shaking his head.

"Oh, what's the point." he said defeatedly.

"And you wonder who it is? Why?" he then asked.

Levi shook his head violently.

"No!" he exclaimed.

"No, she doesn't deserve that!" he said further, before pausing.

"...damn it." he cursed.

"I hate being powerless." he said, angry tears starting to fall from his eyes.

"It's not fair..." he went on.

"Damn this stupid place, and that stupid dark elf." he snarled.

Levi paused, and accepted the water bottle.

"Th... thank you." he then said.

He looked around for a moment, confused.

"Wait." he said.

"Where's Brie?" he asked.

"Or... Alicja...? Whoever was here before."

"....h... huh?" Levi mumbled.

He looked to the brunette, then to the bird, then back to the brunette.

"I..." he stammered.

"I... think so...?" he replied.

"And... water? I... I AM thirsty..." he then admitted.

"But... who ARE you?" he asked.

"...both of you." he clarified.

Levi was about to say something more, before she was gone. The mist dissipated, and she was just... gone.

"....." he was silent, before the mist made its way towards him.

"...yes?" he muttered, before it swirled around him, and seemed to extract something from him. A strange dark mana.

"Oh." he said.

"I see. Guess there was still some left." he muttered, before he narrowed his eyes and took a step back from the mist.

"All right, all right, time for me to wake up." he told it.

Sure enough, about 3-4 minutes later, he opened his eyes and returned to reality.

Levi blinked a few times.

"....o-oh." he said.

"Wait... wait, SHE'S the... new one?" he asked.

Brie just nodded.

"I... I see." he replied.

"Guess it shows how distracted I can really be." he lamented, shaking his head.

"I can tell that you're not who you seemed to be on the surface, and that HER involvement and meddling turned you into something else." he commented.

"I might be stupid... or naive... or both... but I'll give her a chance." he told her.

"And for whatever it's worth... I'm sorry we met under the circumstances we did... and that it has to end like this."

"........." Levi was silent for a moment.

"Alicja?" he asked.

"Who's that?" he asked her.

"The one that's the owner of the body that I, and others, inhabit." she replied.

"..." again, Levi was silent, before nodding.

"They do not care about her." he told her.

"YOU are the one that invaded here. So they only care about you." he finished, as the mist reached her feet, and started to engulf her.

"...my whatever diety you may or may not worship have mercy on whatever if left of you." he said quietly.

Levi just sighed again, putting the guitar down.

"What can I say?" he asked rhetorically.

"I'm a natural. Born this way." he told her, as the thing got closer to the window.

"And I usually have a barrier of souls around me that act as enough of a deterrent." he went on.

It was at that point that a black mist started to seep through the linings of the windows, falling to the floor like a gaseous carpet, and making its way right towards where Brie was.
