Looking around, she saw that the flora told her that it was North America.

And it was clearly a forest laden with mana.

She saw plenty of magical plants growing around.

Which meant that she was probably in a sanctuary or preserve or some sort.

Whether personal or public, she didn't know.

Before either of them could react, she was gone.

"...damn it!" Azazel cursed.

"...." Cain was just silent.

He then shook his head, and fell to his knees, trying not to succumb to whatever this was.

"Where the hell did she go?" Azazel wondered.

"Damn it." he cursed again.

Aedan then appeared in a forest somewhere.

"....." Cain was silent, before looking at Azazel.

He then turned to leave, but something stopped him.

"Argh!" he growled, clasping at his head.

"The future is in her hands!" he blurted out.

It was the exact same thing that Azazel had yelled earlier.

"....." Azazel was silent as Aedan said what she did.

She could see the mana was starting to encase her, but it was weak in places.

He was trying. He was honestly now at war with himself.

And that was when Cain showed up.

"Woah!" he exclaimed.

"What the...!?" he started to ask, before something hit him.

"....no..." he whispered, seeing the mana.

"That's good." he replied.

"Good to hear on the food, too." he said.

"Wanna stick around here for a bit?" he then asked.

"Or get on the road again?" he asked further.

"Your choice, bro."

As soon as she hit the 'send' button, Azazel threw an orb of mana at it, knocking it out of her hand and smashing it into pieces.

"....." he was silent as he did this, and glared at her.

"....Aedan, why?" he asked.

"Why are you doing this?" he asked her.

"....it's futile." he said, his expression softer, as a few tears trickled down his cheeks.

"You can't stop it. I can't stop it." he went on.

"Nobody can." he said further.

"The gears are already in motion, and her tendrils are everywhere, in every crevice."

No sooner had she finished her final thought, did she realise that Azazel's demonic mana had seeped out from his feet and was starting to circle around her.

He had made his move.

"You are asking... a lot." he said.

"I am protecting her because I must." he told her.

"That is all." he said.

"The future is in her hands." he repeated.

"I will be a tool to help her usher the future in."

Azazel shook his head slightly, and growled a little at her.

"Stop this!" he said.

"I told you I didn't want to do something irreversible!" he told her.

"Stop fighting!" he continued.

"Or it WILL come to that!" he added, as his demonic mana started to flare up.

That seemed to do it.

Her last question/allusion/accusation caused him to 'snap'.

He then lunged for her, tackling her down to the floor.

"Shut up!" he yelled.

"I will defend her! I will protect her!" he told her.

"The future is in her hands!" he then said, though it seemed more... preprogrammed than anything else.

"......" Azazel was silent again.

Again, it seemed like he was in a war with himself inside.

"...multiple... souls..." he said.

"I..." he stammered.

He then nodded quickly.

"Y-yes." he told her.

"I did." he said further.

"But... but why... why judge that?" he asked her.

"I don't know what you're talking about." Azazel replied.

"I don't know why you keep-" he went on, before pausing.

"Wait." he said.

"Hold on." he muttered.

"WHAT are you talking about?" he asked her.

"So she has DiD." he said. "Multiple personalities." he went on.

"I know what that is. What the hell is with the 'literally' comment?" he asked her, a hint of himself in his voice again.

Azazel narrowed his eyes.

"...so?" he asked.

"What difference does it make?" he asked her.

"She's still her." he said, taking a step forward.

"And I will make sure she keeps her job and continues to live in this city." he went on, taking another step.

"Now." he said.

"I told you what was going on." he told her, knowing she'd know where he was going with that.

Azazel looked ready to attack her when asked her first question, but stopped when she asked her second.

"...huh?" he asked.

"I told you." he said.

"....didn't I...?" he then wondered aloud.

"We met online." he told her.

"A social forum that had it's own IM service. Just went from there." he continued.

"Why?" he asked.
