Jake was silent, confused about Erica's pauses, but sighed lightly.

"It does..." he said.

"Heh." he then chuckled.

"It really does..." he repeated, a smirk on his face as he seemed to stare off to the side, into space... before he snapped himself back to reality and shook his head a little to clear it.

"Ahem, yes." he coughed.

"Granted, not as much of an effect as a human, or one that's never experienced the webbing before." he then admitted.

"But, to a degree, I AM still susceptible to it." he confirmed.

"Why?" he then asked.

"....ah, I see." Jake replied.

"That's.... concerning, but fair enough." he admitted.

"I'm feeling okay." he told her.

"Still clear, yes." he went on.

"...I'm guessing Uriel's coming here to help with whatever's happening." he then said further.

"Which... if an archangel is needed, is really saying something."

Cain just sighed.

"Well, we can't do anything until he gets here." he said.

"So might as well go." he told her.

"Get your head clear again, I guess." he shrugged.

"...." Zeke was silent for a moment, looking at her.

"Hm." he mumbled, before heading off into the lab somewhere.

With that, Erica left and found Jake still there.

"What's up?" Jake asked her.

"Half-human?" Zeke asked.

"Yeah, I suppose so." Cain said.

"Hm." Zeke mumbled.

"I need to make a call, then." he told them, dialling a number.

"....hey. Yeah... listen, Dad, can you help?" he said into it.

"It's... yeah, it's about what's happening in the world, and maybe you can help." he went on.

"...lab at the Unit." he then said, before he took the phone away from his ear.

"Help's on the way."

"It's not." Cain said.

"Sorry." Zeke apologised again.

"Not your fault." Cain told him.

"These things happen with it comes to science." he lamented.

"Still, that reaction was weird." he mumbled.

"Sorry." Zeke apologised.

He then withdrew his mana off of her.

"I can't help it when it's off me." he said.

"You all right?" he asked.

"Feel like any remnants on you?"

"KIAH!" Ilias yelled out, as Zeke rushed over.

He helped her to her feet again, and made sure she was all right.

"The hell happened?" he asked Aedan and Cain.

"...I think it was an alignment thing." Cain replied.

"......hm." he mumbled.

"Think it's because it's technically nephilim mana?" he asked his mother.

"Or something else?"

The room was silent for a moment, before Ilias spoke.

"Ah, right." he said.

"Let us know what we can do to help." he told the alchemist.

"Mom?" Cain said to Aedan.

"Can you harvest some of Zeke's mana?" he asked.

"Not much, just enough to run some tests on." he went on.

"I'll do the same with Erica."

Zeke just sighed.

"Yes." he said.

"A lot." he told her.

He then looked at her, and raised an eyebrow.

"You seem... different." he commented.

"You all right?" he asked.

"....yes, right." Cain responded.

"Let's go." he told her.

"I don't think there's more." he said.

'...what WAS that, though...?' he then thought, as they left the room and headed back to where the others were.

And as soon as they did, she saw that Zeke had a blob of her mana on him... but it looked like it was trying desperately to do something... but it was having trouble. At least, that's what its wiggling implied.

Zeke just sighed, and shook his head, trying his best to keep his composure.

"Huh?" Cain mumbled.

"What happened?" he asked.

"You did it!" he exclaimed with a smile.

"You managed it! You brought your demonic mana to... well, one of your eyes, anyway." he said.

"Though you are going to want to reign it in a bit." he then warned her.

"Don't keep it in there for TOO long."

Zeke and Ilias looked around as well, clearly off-guard.

"....No." Zeke said.

"I did, too." Ilias confirmed.

Meanwhile, Cain had stumbled back a bit from what had happened.

"W-woah." he stammered.

"E-Erica?" he addressed her.

"You all right?" he asked.

"Huh?" Cain mumbled.

'...what...?' he thought.

"I mean... like... compose yourself and concentrate and stuff." he said.

"Your mind needs to be blank so you can focus your demonic mana to your eyes." he repeated.

"I know it's hard, but we have to keep trying." he went on.

"Just... ONE more try?"

"....Erica?" he repeated.

She didn't answer.

"Erica, come on." he said further.

Again, she didn't respond.

"Ahhh, hell. Come on, Erica, get it together." he then told her.

"I know focusing on your demonic mana and getting it to your eyes has been hard, but I know you can do it." he continued.

"Come on, please?"
