"......" Ty was silent as well for a moment.

"Hey... kid?" he said.

"You all right?" he asked.

"You seem a bit off." he went on.

"...I can leave if it's me." he then said. "I mean, like, right now." he clarified, though his tone said he didn't want to.

He didn't want to be alone. Especially after spending a little time with Miki.

And he knew it'd be a bit before they spent any more time together.

About 5 minutes later, Ty showed up.

"Hey kid." he said.

"Looks like it's gonna be close to the time where I have to mosey on." he told her.

"...shame, though." he mumbled.

"Rather liked spendin' a little time with you." he commented further.

"But I suppose it can't last forever." he added with a small laugh, though there seemed to be some sadness underneath it.

Ty just chuckled lightly.

"Heh, fair enough." he said.

"To be fair, you deserve this level of activity and commotion." he told her.

"I'll bet you're thankful for it being so calm here." he went on.

"Seems like a nice neighbourhood, though." he then admitted.

"Kinda lonely at home without you..." he added quietly at the end.

"...." Ty was silent for a moment as well, before shaking his head.

"Had another vision, huh?" he asked.

"Or... whatever it technically is." he muttered.

"Well, yeah, you ARE missing a real shitshow." he told her.

"It's lucky you're out here." he said further.

"How have things been here, anyway?" he asked.

"Any information or things of note?"

"I mean, he's avoiding people." Ty responded.

"He doesn't have meetings any more. He hardly comes into the office." he said.

"He telecommutes. He sends people on missions by email or voice mail." he went on.

"It seems like he is literally avoiding contact with people." he continued.

"The odd time someone HAS gotten direct contact with him, they say he's been snappish and bitter." he then said.

"Spits venom with every word."

When she shut the door, he sighed.

"Surprised me as well." he said.

"But I DO look inconspicuous." he told her.

"Plus... I guess he thought you could use some companionship for a brief moment." he went on.

"I dunno, the whole Unit's gone nuts." he said further.

"And Hal's been avoiding people."

Jake was silent, before nodding.

"All right." he said.

"Huh?" Ty muttered.

"Why is that relevant?" he asked.

"What's going on?" he asked further.

"Did I miss something?"

Later, he was dressed in casual clothes, pulled up to a house in a rental car, and made his way to the door with a messenger bag.

He then rang the bell.

"She is." Ty responded.

"Bit lonely. But she likes time to herself." he said.

"That's good." Jake said.

"Anyway, what happened?" Ty asked.

"Everything all right here?"

Just as she started to cover her hand... and experience her vertigo... Ty stepped in from the outside.

"Woah!" he exclaimed.

"Hey, you okay?" Jake asked Erica, before looking at Ty.

"And what is it, agent King?" he asked Ty.

"I'm just here to grab some things for the kid while she's on assignment." Ty commented.

"But wow, there was a thickness to the air here." he then mumbled.

Jake was silent as he extended her arm towards him.

"Uhhh..." he then stammered.

"So... am I supposed to be doing something here?" he asked.

Before she could answer, she could see... something... on him.

They looked like thin white strands of... string. Or maybe silk. But they were flashing every so often.

And it looked like every time they flashed, they pushed away the 'darkness' that threatened to engulf him.

Jake raised an eyebrow when she said that.

"Uh?" he muttered.

"Test something?" he asked.

"Uh.... sure? I guess?" he said further, shrugging.

"Whatever I can do to help." he told her.

"Go ahead. What do I need to do?" he asked her.

"Anything special?"

Jake paused for a moment.

"I..." he stammered.

"Eh?" he muttered.

"I feel fine." he said.

"I mean, I get lonely being here all the time, but... I deal with it." he shrugged.

"But I'm fine." he assured her.

"If you need to deal with that marking, go ahead." he continued.

"Don't let ME hold you up."

Jake was silent for a moment, before shaking himself back to reality.

"Yeah, the little things." he said.

"And... I'm not sure." he admitted.

"Looked like your shirt's starting to fray, or something?" he went on.

"Dunno, something at your collar caught my eye."

"Oh, she's fine." Jake responded.

"A little worried about the Unit, but other than that, she's fine." he said.

"Which is good. Don't need HER going nuts." he chuckled.

His eyes then briefly drifted to where she had scratched, but something else caught his eye.

'Eh?' he thought.

'What the?' he asked internally, looking at the edge of the fabric of her shirt.
