Jake read the tablet, and froze for a moment.

"...been a while since I've seen my name typed out." he said.

"My REAL name." he muttered.

"Yes, I'm sure you DO remember me." he then sighed.

"You know... even though you oversaw horrible things done to me, I remember something." he continued.

"You were always one of the nicer ones to me."

"...." Jake was silent as he saw her, and witnessed what she did.

"I... hello." he greeted her.

"It's... it's... hm." he mumbled.

"Maybe you don't remember me." he said.

"But... I was someone that was under Vanessa's control for a while." he went on, scratching the back of his head.

"If I were to wager a guess, I was probably the only Ramaarin that she ever HAD under her control." he then guessed. "Seeing as she was unaware of just how much is detoxed from the body when we... well... shed." he muttered further.

"Damn..." Zeke mumbled.

"That's rough." he said.

-Some time later-

Jake sighed as he made his way to the dorm that Ayla was staying in.

"So it's true." he mumbled.

"I have to." he said to himself.

"I have to see her, myself." he muttered, stopping at her door and knocking on it. When he received the invitation to enter, he did so.

"Hmmm." Ryker mumbled.

"I see." he said.

He then sighed and shook his head.

"Guess I'll rent an RV or something, and just... drive." he muttered.

"Pick a direction, and go." he continued.

"Sleep in a different area every night."

"That... does make sense." Zeke admitted.

"I can't argue that." he said.

"I'll keep a lookout, and keep in contact with Talon." he told her.

"And I'll make sure to keep in touch with YOU as well." he continued.

"I'll bet she's worried sick about her familiar." he went on.

"This is quite important, in my opinion."

Zeke raised an eyebrow when he heard all that.

"An African Grey?" he asked.

"Sure thing." he said.

"Talon and I can do that." he told her.

He then made his way to the window, opened it, and whistled loudly... causing the bird of prey to land on his arm.

"Mind saying it to him directly?" he asked Aimee.

She nodded and obliged, which caused the bird to nod in agreement, before taking off again, presumably to search.

Zeke just rolled his eyes.

"Puberty and her teen years really crashed into her..." he mumbled.

He then sighed, and looked at his mother.

"A serious thing?" he asked.

"What is it?" he asked her.

"Is... is something wrong?" he then inquired, concern in his tone now.

Zeke knew that this was for show.

However, he was still a good boy. And he DID feel that twinge of guilt.

"I... well, no..." he admitted.

"Alas! I have besmirched the reputation of my mother!" he then declared.

"Surely I am not worthy!" he announced.

"Exile is my only future!" he finished.

At this point, he was hamming it up as well.

A few seconds later, the door was answered by a larger man with a muscular physique, and a rather handsome face.

Which wasn't surprising, giving what he was.

"Oh!" he exclaimed upon seeing her.

"Mom, wasn't expecting a visit from you." he admitted.

"Please, come in." he offered, stepping out of the way.

"What brings you out here, into THIS country? This CONTINENT?" he asked with a light chuckle.

Ash smiled in response.

"Cool." he replied.

With that, he started to unpack what he'd brought, and she saw bottles of juice, some water, some slices of pizza, and a variety of other things... and it all smelled SO good. The best she'd smelled in... ages.

"Go on." Ash said.

"Whatever you fancy." he told her.

"Grab whatever you want, and if you have any questions as to what anything is, feel free to ask."

Ash read the tablet again, and sighed.

"Still..." he mumbled.

"I..." he stammered, before shaking his head.

"Right." he said.

"Are you hungry?" he asked her.

"Because I brought some food." he continued.

"A little bit of the best of what I can make." he went on.

"Feel like trying some?"

"Yeah, sure." Ryker responded.

"Tea would be good." he said.

He then sighed, and starting thinking.

"Guess I'll need to think of places to visit." he commented.

"Perhaps another continent."

".........." Ash was silent as he read what he did.

He then set the tablet gently down in front of himself, and leaned forward, burying his hands in his face as he did so.

He continued to be silent again, before she heard him speak.

Quietly.

"I'm sorry." he apologised.

"I'm sorry that this happened to you." he said.

"I'm sorry that my escape ultimately led to this." he apologised further.

Once again, Ash read the tablet.

And even moreseo, did not like what he read.

'...Ashleigh...?' he thought.

'Why would she...?' he started to ask himself, before sighing.

This didn't sit well with him, and it didn't make sense that Ashleigh did that to Ayla... unless she was forced to. That's when something hit him, and he looked at the elf before him once again.

"Ayla..." he said quietly.

"When... when did this happen to you?" he asked her.
