"....what...?" Jaden mumbled.

"What the...?" he started to ask, before shaking his head.

"Right, coming!" he called to her.

He then quickly followed her, and they made their way down to where the two people were.

'Vyn?' he thought.

'How in the...? What the...?' he wondered, but decided not to bring it up just yet.

"I can tell there's a LOT more to that statement." Jaden replied.

"Can also tell that you don't really want to talk about it." he went on.

"But fine." he then said.

"Looks like there's nothing for it, then." he shrugged.

"I may as well get on stage and break the news." he reasoned.

"Half these people are nooooot gonna be happy."

"....." Jaden was silent as he heard that.

"I see..." he said.

"If she needs help, then... hm." he mumbled.

"But we have nothing to go on." he went on.

"Shit. Hm." he muttered further.

"Damn it, yes, this IS frustrating." he admitted.

"I just wonder what could be causing such trouble."

"Huh??" Jaden asked.

"No! I'd never!" he said.

"But I want to help try and find Desiree." he told her.

"I estimate we have a little over a half-hour before someone getting on stage HAS to happen." he went on.

"In that time, is there anything I can do?" he asked.

"Obviously something's up." he continued.

"What is it?"

"Hmmmm..." Jaden mumbled.

He looked at the stage, then looked at the crowd, and narrowed his eyes.

"...I'd say we have... 40 minutes before they start to get antsy." he guessed. "Just from the general feel, and the majority of the expressions I see here." he told her further.

"In that time, I am going to see if I can't help Kalin locate Desiree." he continued.

He then looked to where Kalin had gone, before looking at Vyn.

"Excuse me." he said, before hastily going in the direction that Kalin had gone.

'I reeeeeeally hope I'm just looking too much into this.' he thought.

"......" Jaden was silent for a few moments.

"Uh..." he stammered.

"Right, I'm no expert on human behaviour, but that's not a good sign." he commented to Vyn.

"And take the stage?" he went on.

"At a time like this?" he asked further.

"I'm not ready. And I'm not sure what I would do to try and appease this entire crowd." he admitted.

"...and I am also extremely concerned about what Kalin said at the end. Or, rather, her overall tone and demeanour." he clarified.

Jaden was about to respond, before Kalin spoke.

"...that IS concerning." he admitted.

"Hmmm." he mumbled.

"Where was the last place you talked to her?' he asked. "Or saw her. Or anything." he went on.

"Where's the last known place she was at, essentially." he clarified.

"I can try and see if I can't find anything out." he offered.

Aly had been up to use the washroom when Eke woke up, and came downstairs shortly after.

"Good morning!" she said cheerily.

"Sleep well, Eke?" she asked.

At that point, they heard some commotion from the basement, following by the sounds of some things collapsing.

"WOOOAH, HELL!" Ryker yelled out.

"YIKES!" he yelled further, before the crashing stopped.

"I know OF her." Jaden replied, deciding not to comment on her 'professional' comment.

"Her name's Desiree." he said.

"She does mostly levitation stuff." he went on.

"She's real popular for kid's parties and such, and is up-and-coming." he explained further.

"Seriously, she keeps it up, she's got a bright future ahead of her in the entertainment industry." he continued.

"...and it's not like her to be late, from what I've seen and heard." he then added at the end.

Jaden sighed and looked at Vyn.

"Kalin accidentally double-booked." he told her.

"With a magician that does more... family-friendly and kid-appropriate... stuff." he went on.

"If one of us goes on stage, half the audience will revolt. No matter what." he continued.

"So a joint show is really the only real answer." he explained further.

"Unfortunately, it seems like the other performer isn't here yet."

Jaden just sighed.

"Great." he said.

"Just... great." he muttered.

"Vyn, this is Kalin." he then said to Vyn.

"Kalin, Vyn." he said to the purple-haired woman.

"Anyway, she'd better get here soon." he went on.

"The crowd's probably gonna start getting antsy soon."

"Errrgh..." Jaden growled.

"This is a pain in the ass." he said.

"You know that, right?" he asked her, though rhetorically.

"But fine." he then said.

"If I don't share the stage with her, I get the feeling that there's gonna be a damn riot here." he muttered further, looking out at the crowd... which was a mix of goths and emos, as well as though that looked like they were there for a more... kid-friendly show.

Which was when he noticed Vyn.

"Oh! Vyn!" he said, waving at her.

Jaden just smirked.

"You're worth it." he told her.

The night of the show, Vyn showed her pass to the bouncer, and she was let in.

When she went inside, she noticed the space was huge. And it was decked out to the max. This truly looked like THE spot to be.

She also noticed that there were a LOT of people around.

Also, she saw Jaden in the corner, talking to a woman with purple hair.

And they both looked uneasy. In fact, the woman looked guilty and flustered.

About a minute later, Jaden returned with a plastic card attached to a lanyard.

"Here ya go." he said.

"This'll get you into the club no problem." he told her.

"And it'll get you backstage afterwards." he went on.

"Hope to see you there." he went on with a snap of his fingers and a wink.

"I like quality people in my audience."
