"Hmmm." Lindsay mumbled.

"I see." he said.

"Yes, it certainly is a shame." he agreed, as they made their way to the dorm that she was staying in.

Once there, Hal knocked on the door.

"Hello!?" he called in.

"We have someone who wishes to speak with you!" he said further.

"She's probably in." he then said. "She hardly ever leaves."

Lindsay scratched at his chin a little, taking in what she told him.

"Hmmm, I see." he said.

"Yes, that DOES sound like it could be mental scarring." he told her.

"I'll see what I can do." he continued, as Hal came into view.

"That's all we ask." he said.

"Thank you for coming in on such short notice, Dr. Fyrane." he told Lindsay.

"Not a problem." Lindsay assured him.

"And she doesn't seem to be hostile, or anything?" he asked Angela.

"Perhaps Agent Sharp should know I'm here." Lindsay responded.

"Already on it." Jake told them, on his phone.

"He says he'll meet you on the way to where she is." he said further.

"...'she' being te patient." he clarified.

"Anyway, in you go." he finished, buzzing Lindsay in.

"Shall we?" Lindsay asked Angela.

Jake just rolled his eyes.

"At the same time, you CAN be considered as such. You ARE on call for field medic duties, if things get bad enough." he reminded her.

"They just... never have, thankfully." he reasoned.

"And Dr. Fyrane is here to see our guest." he then told her.

"Ah, hello." Lindsay greeted Angela.

"Yes, Kiah told me there was someone here that wasn't talking, and the one in charge here thought I might be able to help." he told her.

"You're welcome." Lindsay responded.

The next day, Lindsay arrived at the unit at about 8:45 in the morning, to find Jake there, paper down, halfway through a giant mug of coffee.

"Ah, hello, Dr. Lindsay Fyrane, here at the request of Agent Sharp." Lindsay introduced himself. He knew Jake probably knew who he was, as he'd been here before on occasion, but knew that protocol was best observed when security was involved.

Jake looked at him, darted his tongue out momentarily, and nodded.

"Got it." he replied, before activating the PA system for the building.

"Agent Edwards to security check, please! Agent Edwards to security check!" he said into it.

Lindsay just laughed a little at her comments.

"To be fair to Casey, there are a FEW things she can make." he said.

"I'm competent. Which is to say, I can take care of myself, and I can make food for the house if need be. I'm average, essentially." he continued.

"And as for Ashleigh, she's stellar at barbequing, let me tell you." he then added. "Seriously, she's pretty much on par with Ash when it comes to it." he muttered, shaking his head.

"Also, yeah. Tell Ash to cook, and he'll do it. He'll take any excuse." he chuckled.

"Regardless, when you head back, tell your boss what I said." he finished, returning to why she'd come in the first place.

"Whatever he feels is appropriate." Lindsay replied.

"I do what I do to help people." he told her.

Then, before either of them could say anything more, a delectable aroma wafted out from the window, towards them.

"Hm?" Lindsay mumbled.

"Smells good." he commented.

"Of course." Lindsay replied.

"...." he was then silent, before thinking a for a moment.

"I'll need to meet with someone beforehand for some preliminary information, though." he continued.

"Basically, anyone that knows ANYTHING about this person." he clarified.

"Even if they're just there to meet me at the security check, and fill me in along the way."

"An elf?" Lindsay asked.

"Well, I can sure try." he told her.

"When does he need me there?" he asked her.

"ASAP." Kiah replied.

"Hmmm." Lindsay mumbled.

"I DO have tomorrow off..." he said. "And I wasn't going to do anything with it, until the evening..." he admitted further.

"If tomorrow works, I can be at the building first thing in the morning." he told her.

"And by that, I mean at around 9. California time." he clarified.

Ash just chuckled lightly.

"Hmmm." he mumbled.

"Ah!" he exclaimed, snapping his fingers.

"I'll make up those redfin swordfish filets that she likes!" he said, before getting to work... with Kitt hanging around, surely looking for scraps or treats.

Meanwhile, outside, Lindsay was silent for a moment, almost looking like he was asleep, before looking over towards her.

"Kiah?" he asked

"Yeah, sure!" he called back.

He then stretched out, before rolling into the water somewhat gracefully (but with a bit of a splash), and swimming towards her.

"What's up?" he asked when he got to the edge of the pool.

Kitt nuzzled up to Kiah as she scratched behind her ears.

The man thought for a moment, and snapped his fingers.

"Ah! Yeah!" he said.

"He's actually out in the backyard." he told her.

"Don't think he's doing anything, really. Just taking it easy out there." he continued.

"First time in a while." he chuckled.

The door was answered... but by the wrong man.

It was her other cousin, the brother of the one she was looking for.

"Oh, hey Kiah." he greeted her, before pausing.

"Ohhhh, hang on a sec..." he said, before they saw a black panther bounding towards her.

However, the man managed to catch the giant feline and scoop it up, completely catching it off guard.

"Been a while since you were here, pretty sure Kitt got excited when she smelled you." he said, putting the feline down. "You know she likes you." he added, as the cat started to lick Kiah's palms.

"But yeah, come in. Haven't had a visit from you in so long." he told her, stepping out of the way so she could enter.

"Whatever works for you." Hal replied.

"You know you have a flexible schedule, as long as you get the results in, and keep the gears moving smoothly." he told her.

"Wait, go now, whichever you feel is the best time to get ahold of him." he continued.

"And... that's really it." he said.

"Unless you have something to bring up with me, I think we're done here." he concluded.

"Thank you once again." he finished.

Hal just chuckled.

"That's all I ask." he told her.

"Normally I would call him and make an official request, but red tape must be followed under those circumstances." he explained. "And we want this girl to get the help she needs ASAP." he reasoned.

"So please, anything you can do to help would be wonderful." he continued.

"And if there's any way I can help with that, let me know." he added.
