Jaden blinked a couple of times.

"...ah, well, that's fair enough." he said.

He then laughed a little.

"And yeah, I do." he admitted.

"They eat it up." he continued.

"I may not like edgelords, but... hey, give 'em what they want." he shrugged.

"Plus, it DOES look cool..."

Jaden just chuckled a little, and scratched the back of his head.

"Eh-heh." he laughed lightly.

"Well, I mean-" he started to say, before freezing.

".....wait." he said.

"Wait, huh?" he asked.

"Unexpected heterochromia?" he asked.

"How... how do you know it was unexpected?"

Jaden just shook his head.

"You caught me in a lull." he told her.

"I've got nothing to do for the next month and a half or so." he said.

"Well, aside from the occasional show, but they'll be more routine." he clarified.

"So no, you're not in the way." he assured her.

"Besides, there's always time for a beautiful woman." he added with a wink.

Jaden just smiled at her.

"Sure thing." he replied.

"I'll text you the info." he told her.

"Hell, if you want, we can do a cafe tour." he suggested.

"Find all the cafe's in this city, and visit them." he went on.

'Rank them and try their fare."

"Hm." Jaden mumbled, thinking about it.

"Well, the bar scene is usually good." he said.

"We have a nice local-talent theatre." he continued.

"If you're into clubbing, I know 4 really nice spots." he went on.

"Hmmm." he then mumbled.

"Yeah, that's about all I can think of right now." he admitted.

Jaden just laughed.

"Help?" he responded.

"Oh, please. You didn't need any help." he said.

"You had that situation well in hand." he reasoned.

"But fair enough." he continued.

"And a ticket? Hell, I'll do you one better." he went on.

"I'll give you a VIP backstage pass."

"R-really?" Jaden stammered.

"Wow! Thanks!" he exclaimed.

"This is amazing stuff." he told her.

"...but are you sure?" he then asked.

"I mean, this brew was surely expensive." he reasoned.

"You're all right with just... giving it to me?"

".......all right." Jaden replied after a pause.

He looked at the black liquid in his mug, before taking a sip.

After he did, he paused.

And his eyes widened.

"Oh... my... god." he said.

"This... this is... holy crap!" he exclaimed, gulping down some more.

"It's unlike anything I've ever had before!"

"True..." Jaden muttered.

"She was." he said.

"And... wait..." he then mumbled.

"You said the Bathory files have largely been destroyed by time." he said.

"Yet you know so much about it." he went on.

"How?" he asked.

"Just how long have you worked for the Triad??" he asked her.

"I... ah... I see." Jaden replied.

"Hm." he muttered.

"Well, I... hm." was all he could manage to get out.

"Right then." he finally said.

"I... I guess that makes sense." he then admitted.

"Still." he mumbled.

"I've managed to make it in the world... after becoming a monster for a brief period..." he added, shame in his tone near the end.

"Hm." Jaden muttered.

"Yeah." he said.

"Maybe I should." he agreed.

"And yeah, the Bathory name WOULD be a target-" he continued, before stopping suddenly.

"Wait." he said.

"Wait, wait, wait." he repeated.

"Bathory? What?" he asked her.

"........" Jaden was silent as Vyn said all that.

"Maybe." he said.

"I've never looked that deep into it." he went on.

"I left because I wanted freedom, and she was essentially imprisoning me." he muttered further.

"Though, looking back, I can see what she was doing." he sighed.

"I could have left on better terms." he then admitted.

"But I cannot change what I have done. No matter how much I want to."

Jaden just smiled.

"Oh yeah." he said.

"Thrilling the crowd is a thrill in and of itself." he told her.

"Plus, I like performing, overall." he continued.

"And I like the type of 'magic' I do." he went on.

"Shame it attracts edgelords, but... whatever." he then shrugged.

"Nothing's perfect."

"Ahhh, fair enough." Jaden replied.

"Well, whatever keeps the gears moving, I suppose." he said.

'...that... didn't help at all.' he thought.

"Do you like your job?" he asked.

"Or is it something you just do for the pay, or because nobody else'll do it, or what?" he asked further.
