"...." Jaden was silent for a moment, thinking about it.

"Ah, yeah, wait, the one I have early next week is a smaller gig." he muttered.

"Ah!" he then said, snapping his fingers.

"I have a show at the Neon Oasis this coming Saturday! 10 pm!" he told her.

"Place opens at 7ish. I'll grab you a pass for it." he continued.

"One moment." he said, before going to grab it.

Jaden laughed a little as well.

"And yeah, she needs traffic there, and it's good to help friends out." he reasoned.

"And her name is Kalin Kiczys." he told her.

"Her club's at the corner of 3rd and Sanders." he went on.

"Name of the place is 'Neon Oasis'. Open from Friday night to Sunday night, usually."

"Oh, no, that's my next BIG show. You know, one that'll essentially be the talk of the town for a few months." Jaden responded.

"I'm doing a couple in the meantime." he continued.

"Shows for a friend of mine. Help their club." he went on.

"You're more than welcome to attend one of those. I have one early next week." he told her further.

"Want a VIP backstage pass for it?" he asked.

"I have several that are just sitting around."

"...wow." Jaden mumbled

"That's... that really sucks, to understate it." he told her.

"Just... yeah. There's no other way to really say it." he sighed.

"I mean... at least you pushed past it?" he then said.

"You seem to be doing really well for yourself." he commented further.

"And you're great to hang around with."

"Mmm, I suppose..." Aly mumbled, falling asleep as well.

A few hours later, Ryker pulled up to their house with a rented RV, turning it off and stepping out of it.

"Cool." he said.

"Eke's gonna love seeing this in the driveway." he chuckled, before going inside.

"Heh." Jaden chuckled.

"You're nice to talk to." he said.

"Simple as that." he told her.

"And... well... yes, that's true about my mother." he went on.

He then paused once more.

"Did... yours?" he asked.

"You sound like you're speaking from experience."

Jaden just laughed a little.

"It would, yeah." he agreed.

He then sighed, and shook his head.

"Yeah, fate." he said.

"I can agree to that." he mumbled.

"Oh well. Whatever happens, happens." he continued.

"Thanks, by the way." he then said.

"I know it must be irritating to hear someone like me essentially complain about their life." he reasoned with a small, but sad, smile.

Aly just nodded and closed her eyes.

"Whether it's cut short or not, the time spent with you is something I will forever cherish." she told him.

"I just want to make the most of the time we have." she said further.

"Make sure we have plenty of quality time together." she went on.

"...to make sure we have no regrets."

Jaden just shrugged.

"They did." he replied.

"When I tried to get ladies and relationships and such." he told her.

"These days, I've lost interest." he sighed.

"I don't meet many quality women." he went on.

"You're one of the rare ones." he then said further.

"But I don't want some superficial ditz that likes me for my pretty hair and money and that's all." he lamented.

"No. No, I am not bald under the hat." Jaden confirmed.

"......" he was then silent, before sighing.

"A lot." he told her.

"And I mean that. A lot." he repeated.

"Enough that it takes me close to an hour to wash and dry it every morning.' he lamented.

He was then silent once more, shaking his head.

"I can tell you want to take this hat off me." he said further.

"I'll save you the trouble." he finished, taking it off... and allowing long flowing locks of gorgeous blonde hair to cascade down around him.

"....." Jaden was silent for a moment.

"The hair's natural." he told her.

"And what do I hide under my hat? The rest of my hair." he said further.

"Quite frankly, I refuse to dye my hair. That'll just destroy it in the long run, and I work TOO hard to maintain it." he went on, seriousness in his tone. "And a glamour's too much pain. Odds are I'd forget one night and... yeah. I decided to just lay it all out, colour-wise." he continued.

"It was a rough start, but apparently my stage presence/attitude, as well as my stubborn confidence in it allows the audience to look past it." he shrugged. "That or it's their inherent not-give-a-fuck attitude just causes them to not care." he added.

"Either way, some people hate it, others say it's a nice contrast." he went on.

"I think they think I'm bald under this." he chuckled.

Jaden was silent for another moment.

"...wow." he said.

"Just... wow." he muttered.

"I honestly never would have guessed." he admitted. "Probably because you make the look work so well for you." he then told her.

"But fair enough. It's a good look for you." he said further.

'...why? WHY is she SO familiar?' he thought to himself, wracking his brain for an answer, but finding none.

"Also, I make it a point not to presume." he then said.

"After all, my audience is loaded with people that paint their face white and put red contact lenses in." he muttered, shaking his head a little.

"Yeah." Jaden replied.

"It would. Especially with how pale you are." he went on.

Again, he then paused.

"Right, sorry if I sound suspicious or something, but another question." he said.

"Earlier, you mentioned something about 'as you are'." he commented.

"What... did you mean by that?"

"And I'm lucky to have you." Aly replied, snuggling up to him.

"I've never been happier than being with you." she said.

"And I mean that." she told him.

"Having you in my life? I'd never change that at all." she assured him.

"Not for anything."
