Hal just sighed.

"Sure." he replied.

"I'll try anything." he told her.

"I just... I want her to be able to get some sleep again." he went on.

"I want her to feel safe in bed once more." he continued.

"So please, anything you can do would be a big help."

Hal was... unimpressed, to say the least.

This woman, this professional, was essentially saying that she had no idea what was going on with his daughter.

And that started to anger him.

However, he suppressed it, and sighed.

"No." he replied.

"Everything's been the same." he told her, before pausing.

"Well, I mean I've been spending more time at the office because things are hectic and busy, but... that's happened in the past, without issue." he then explained.

"But what you're saying is concerning." he added at the end.

Hal was silent for a moment, processing the doctors' words and attitude and tone, before nodding.

"Yes." he replied.

"I do." he told her.

"I'm on break from the office, so I have plenty." he said further.

"Then please, come in." the doctor told him.

He did as she requested, entering her office and shutting the door behind them, before they made their way to her desk, her sitting behind him, him sitting in front of it.

"Yes?" he then said.

"What is it?" he asked her.

He had to admit, he was a bit on-edge about this. He was scared that he would be told that there was nothing that could be done.

"Pasta? Hmmm." Cain muttered.

"Yeah, I can do that." he said, getting out of the bed.

"I'll get started on that now, actually." he told her.

-About 6 days later-

Hal sighed as he sat in the waiting room. Lindsay had managed to get them an appointment with not only a specialised child psychologist, but one of the most respected and accredited child psychologists around. It was lucky that she happened to be a friend and colleague of the Fyrane.

Lunet was currently in a session with her, and Hal had decided to stop by and wait for her, as he was told he needed to step away from the office. So he let Cain stay at his house and wait for her, while he waited at the office.

He was a little antsy and impatient, mostly because he wanted to know what was going on. It seemed his daughter had been getting less and less sleep, and a solid block of sleep for her seemed to just be a few hours.

And he didn't like that.

He wanted answers, and he wanted his daughter to get help.

Ryker just grinned, showing his teeth a bit.

"Heh." he chuckled.

"Best reaction." he said to him.

"Anything else you want to do while we're out and about?" he then asked.

"Any other stops you want or need to make?"

"..............." again, Cain was silent, and gripped his head.

'WHY is all of this sounding so familiar!?' he exclaimed mentally.

'Why!? What is going on!? Why is my mind telling me I know all this!?' he asked further.

He then shook his head and gently slapped his cheeks, before sighing.

"Ah, right." he said.

"Food. Yes." he told her.

"Want me to order something in or make up something here?" he asked her, trying to keep a bit of a collected head.

"......" Cain was silent as she got out of the bed and started to head off, her hand guiding her along the wall.

"...hey." he said.

"Need any help?" he asked.

"...getting to where you're going, that is. Wherever... that is." he clarified.

"I mean, if not, that's cool." he then said.

"If you want me to stay here and hang out, that works, too." he said further.

He wasn't sure what he could do here, but he DID know that he just wanted to help.

Cain looked at her as she spoke his name and patted his chest.

"Yo." he replied.

"I'm here." he said.

"Still here." he assured her.

"How are you feeling?" he asked.

"Any better than before?" he asked further.

He then sighed quietly, as he looked at her. Yes, she still looked damn tired, but it seemed like she at least got 3 solid hours of sleep, and wasn't interrupted by whatever had been plaguing her recently.

"It's all right." Cain responded.

"You don't have to say any more." he told her.

"Just try and relax and calm down." he said further, holding her a bit closer.

However, in his mind, his thoughts were racing.

Neon green?

How was that possible? How did she know that? Did she have a proper grasp of colours like that?

And why was this so familiar to him?

Why? How? He swore he'd seen or heard of that before...

Cain held her close, but paused when she said her last bit.

'...neon... precursor...?' he thought.

'...what the...?' he asked himself.

"Uh... Lunet?" he addressed her.

"What... what do you mean?" he asked her.

"Neon precursor? How so? Like... can you be more specific?"

Cain just sighed.

"No, it's all right." he said.

"I'm glad to help." he told her. "Or... well, try to, anyway." he muttered.

"We'll get through this." he then said.

"You'll get through this, that is, with help from me and your dad." he then clarified.

"I promise." he said.

All the while, he was wondering if that pit had anything to do with it. Was it something that happened BEFORE the pit? What was going on?

"Yes, dear, he is." Hal responded... just as Cain knocked on the door.

"Hey." he said.

"...I'd ask if things are all right here, but... well... I think I know the answer to that." he muttered.

"Come here, Cain." Hal replied.

"I need to make some phone calls." he told him, as the young man approached.

"Yes, sir." he replied.

"Take care of Lunet." Hal told him.

"The best I can." Cain responded.

Hal just sighed. It was clear. It was audible.

And it was exasperated.

"....Lunet..." he mumbled.

"Sweetie... you need help." he told her.

"Professional help." he clarified.

"I'm going to talk to Dr. Fyrane in Canada." he then said. "Get a recommendation from him." he went on.

"This needs to be looked at, and it needs to be looked at post-haste."

"....uh-huh." Hal mumbled.

"I've seen people have nightmares before." he said.

"I've seen YOU have nightmares before." he informed her.

"THAT was not a nightmare." he said.

"Lunet..." he then addressed her, trailing off a bit.

"...is this why you haven't been sleeping?" he asked her.

"Why you look so terrible?"
