Lex just sighed.

"Yeah, I know." he said.

"It sucks." he muttered.

"But I think that she should be safe while within the walls of our home." he told her.

"I just wanted to get your thoughts on this." he continued.

"I want to help Lilim, but I don't want you to feel put out by this, or whatever." he said further.

"Know what I mean?"

Lex just smiled.

"Heh." he chuckled.

"Thanks, sis." he said.

"You're always awesome." he told her.

"But yeah, seems she's in some serious trouble." he went on, before explaining the situation in full.

"However, I think we should be able to shield our home." he reasoned.

"We're strong necromancers."

"I don't know." Lex replied.

"She needs a place to stay." he said.

"But it's YOUR home, too." he went on.

"If you're not okay with it, it won't happen." he continued.

"Simple as that." he said further.

"What is your opinion on all this?" he then asked her.

"She's Lilim." Lex replied.

"Remember the demon that hijacked my rune a few months back?" he asked.

"Or, well, remember me telling you about it?" he then clarified.

"That's her." he said.

"If I were to wager a guess, in her weakened state, your pure mana was too much for her to handle." he went on.

"So I moved her to the spare room in the basement. Put up some defences as well." he added.

"Thanks." Lex said, accepting the drink.

"...." he was then silent before taking a drink.

"Yeah." he answered.

"She should be okay." he told her.

"She'll be out of commission for a couple days, though." he muttered. "Which is to say, that's when she'll wake up." he clarified.

"Thank you." he continued.

"Lady Sherwood saved her life." he said.

Lex was silent for a moment, before thinking heavily on it.

"Hmmmm..." he mumbled.

"I can set up some defensive measures..." he muttered further, taking into consideration that Lilim would be out of it for at least a day or two.

I'll meet you there. he sent.

Give me 10 minutes or so. he sent further.

Sure enough, about 10 minutes later, closer to 15, he stepped into the coffee shop, scanning the place for his sister. When he located her, he made his way over and sat down across from her.

"Hey." he greeted her.

Azazel and Lex watched her go, before Azazel sighed.

"I should be going as well." he told Lex.

"I have some info to give to my son." he said.

"Yeah, go on." Lex responded.

Azazel disappeared from where he was in a demonic burst of mana, leaving Lex alone with the still-unconscious Lilim.

He looked towards her, before shaking his head and grabbing his cell phone.

We need to talk. Sooner, rather than later. he sent to his sister.

Lex shook his head.

"I don't think so." he said.

"Yeah, I think that's all. Lilim's out of the woods, and that's what matters." Azazel agreed.

"Thanks again, so much." Lex told Sydney.

"I am indebted to you." he told her.

Azazel just chuckled.

"Lilim is too." he said.

"Not that she'll admit it." he added.

"Uriel's already helped her out." Lex responded.

"See, Lilim hasn't caused any trouble up here, so there's no reason for him to attack her." he said.

"Plus, he hates her family." he continued.

"Essentially, it's a... 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend' situation." Azazel chimed in.

"Yeah." Lex confirmed.

"As for Aimee... I don't know." he then admitted.

"All I can do is talk to her about it."

Azazel just sighed.

"Not really." he said.

"I mean, I can only think of ONE line of defense." he told her.

"A strong necromancer may be able to force him back." he said further.

"...hence why this place is good." he went on.

"Not many necromancers stronger than Lex and Aimee." he reasoned.

"I'll do all I can to help protect her." Lex chimed in.

Azazel sighed.

"Not much CAN be done." he said.

"An exiled demon is... a pretty wretched creature." he admitted.

"And they don't really fall under ANY jurisdiction here on this plane. Not that the others would care about it, as you said." he muttered.

"All that can be done is to try and defend against that dark elf." he continued.

"Which... easier said than done, I know."

"Ah, right." Azazel said.

"Her name's Lilim." he replied.

"And... well... it's a bit of a story." he said.

Lex then returned with coffee for Sydney, and Azazel sighed.

He proceeded to tell her about Lilim. Who she was, her past, his relationship with her, everything. He spared no details.

"So... yeah." he mumbled.

"She's stuck on this plane." he told her.

"To return to Hell would mean certain torture and destruction."

"Ah, yes." Azazel replied.

"That reminds me." he said.

"Once that transfer happens, you'll need to do a mandatory review of your 'staff'." he told her.

"Which includes me." he went on.

"That being said, I do hope you'll let me continue to keep my position." he continued.

"Quite frankly, it makes being down there SO much more tolerable." he mumbled.

"I get along with hellspawn creatures more than demons..." he added quietly, shaking his head.

"Hm." Ryker muttered.

"Travelling, eh?" he asked.

"Well, when this is all over, I MAY be able to help with that." he said.

"Depends what you mean by that, though." he went on.

"You mean across the country, or around the world?"
