Ryker paused for a moment, almost frozen.

"I... uh..." he stammered.

"Uh... w-well..." he said further, before sighing heavily.

"Yeah. Yeah, I suppose so." he admitted.

This caused Aly to just laugh a little.

"That's so sweet!" she exclaimed.

"And no, I'm not working." Ryker told Eke. "With this storm going on, work's been suspended until it clears." he added with a smirk and a wink.

Lex just laughed when Lunet made her comment.

"Yep, my sis is a real wizard with food." he told her.

"Hey, Aimee!" he then called into the house, but not so loud as to hurt Lunet's ears.

"We're home!" he said further.

"And it seems you were successful in rolling out the welcome mat!" he added with another laugh.

"Yeah, this is our place. It's nothing too fancy or sophisticated, but we cherish it immensely." he told Lunet, not realising such a statement might be a bit on the... odd side... for one that wasn't aware of their pasts and history.

"I'm good at desserts." Lex responded.

"My sister's a genius when it comes to doing up dinners and meals and such, I specialise in what comes after." he laughed.

"I've been told I have real talent." he went on.

"Regardless, I'm sure you'll love dinner and dessert when we get home." he added.

The rest of the drive was uneventful, with small chit-chat, but they were at Lex's home in what Lunet swore was a very short amount of time.

"And we're here." Lex announced.

"Do you want help with your luggage or anything?" he inquired.

"I'll bet." Lex replied.

"Flights are expensive." he said.

"And yeah, Aimee's food is the best." he went on.

"She's a real wizard with it." he added with a small laugh.

"I also made some dessert for after." he then told her.

"Have you ever had authentic Madeleines?" he inquired.

"If not, you're in for a treat. Not to toot my own horn."

"Well, why not call her now?" Lex suggested.

"I mean, it'll be a bit before we get back to my place." he told her.

"About 25 minutes or so." he added.

"But regardless, we're off." he said.

And with that, they were gone from the airport, and down the road.

"How was your flight?" he inquired, engaging in small conversation.

"Eh-heh." Lex laughed nervously, scratching the back of his head.

"Thanks." he said.

"And hey. Welcome to France." he then greeted her.

"Throw your stuff in the rear." he told her.

"We'll head onto my place." he went on.

"Aimee'll have some food waiting for us." he added.

Got it. Lex replied.

He then focused his gaze at the entrance, waiting for her.

Sure enough, he saw her, and sent her a text.

Yo. Straight ahead, to your right. he sent.

He then started to wave at her as he stepped out of his car.

"Huh. She IS pretty short..." he mumbled to himself.

After a moment, she received a response.

By the front gates. it read.

In a light blue car. the second one told her.

I'll be waving at you. the next one read further.

What sort of person am -I- searching for? the last one then inquired.

Lex decided that now was a good time to stop. Let her respond to all he'd just sent.

Hal was silent.

"My apologies." he said.

He then paused for a moment, seemingly in deep thought.

"Whatever." he mumbled.

"Regardless." he said.

"You still have lessons." he told her.

"We need to get a lot done." he said.

"Are you ready?"

"Ahhhh." Hal replied.

"Fair." he said.

"As for dates..." he mumbled.

"I've searched it up, and I believe I've found dates that should be acceptable." he told her.

"I can get you out there this Thursday morning, and you'll be flying back the following Tuesday evening." he informed his daughter.

"How is that?" he inquired.

"That suitable for you?" he inquired further.

"Should give you plenty of time to do what Lex wishes, and have some sight-seeing."

"Still in the den, sweetie!" Hal called back.

She made her way towards him, and he smiled at her.

"Hello again." he said.

"What's up now?" he inquired.

"Yes, this is a cell phone." Lex confirmed.

"Text me when you have them." he told her.

"And tell me what your living arrangements are going to be." he went on.

"Will you need a place to stay?" he inquired.

"Because hotels and even motels can be expensive here." he continued.

"Or do you have those sorted out already?"

"....the USA?" Lex muttered.

"You're flying out here from the USA?" he inquired further.

"I... uh... right." he stammered.

"Let's... actually, let's simplify this." he told her.

"Your flight times and such... inform me as to what they are when you know." he went on.

"I'll come get you at the airport." he said further, before giving her the exact address.

"Oh?" Lex inquired.

"That's very generous of you." he said.

"I'll take you up on that offer." he told her.

"And yes, I do need some help. Seems it's time I joined the present, and bring my business to the web." he went on.

"As well as an app." he said further.

"Is there anything you want to know from me in advance?" he then queried.
