Immediately, Hal seemed a bit defensive.

".....I am not." he said.

Azazel just sighed heavily.

"I shouldn't be surprised that you can see through me." Hal then said to Lilim.

"From what it seems, you are from the upper echelon of demons." he commented.

"But if you are HERE, it means you need help, yes?" he asked.

"Hah." Azazel laughed.

"Good luck." he said.

"The boss has been waiting for her soul for a looooong time." he mumbled.

The receptionist then said something into the comm system, before beckoning them inside.

"Come on." Azazel told Lilim.

With that, the two of them entered the office, and Sharp looked at them.

"...welcome." he greeted them, but more specifically, Lilim.

"....one." Azazel mumbled.

"She keeps coming back again and again." he said.

"Vanessa Encrae." he muttered.

"Oh! And her sister, Ashleigh." he said further.

"But she's pretty cool." he went on.

"....and Syraene Encrae as well, but I dunno if she counts." he then went on.

"Being part of The Order, and all."

"Few years." Azazel replied.

"...actually, probably a lot longer." he muttered.

"I've never actually bothered to keep track." he admitted.

"But regardless, been here a while." he said further.

"It's amazing the usefulness I have here." he went on.

"When a dark elf isn't bolstered by demonic mana, we're completely immune to it." he then informed her.

"............." Azazel was silent.

"I... don't know." he replied.

"I'm serious. I don't know." he admitted.

"Ever since I arrived at Lex's, there's been some strange things going on in my mind." he told her.

"And I don't know what to make of them." he went on.

"I... if I were to wager a guess, it's a little of one, little of the other." he then said.

"But I'd also assume it's more the want to, as opposed to feeling I have to." he added.

Azazel just sighed.

"Yeah." he said.

"...Sharp's gonna need to hear that." Zeke muttered.

"I know." Azazel replied.

"We're on our way to see him now." he said further.

"I won't keep you any longer, then." Zeke told them, stepping out of the way.

"I suppose we should be going, then." Azazel said to Lilim.

"And I'm here to help her in any way I can." Azazel responded.

"...especially since one can argue I'm one of the reasons that she's not seen as a perfect example of what a demon should be." he then admitted quietly.

"Eh?" Zeke muttered.

"Lilim's family... well... they technically... owned me." Azazel mumbled.

"...owned...?" Zeke asked. "As in... a slave?" he asked further.

"Yes." Azazel confirmed.

"As a demon on a much lower tier than her and her family, I was... well... essentially beaten and battered and such, and taken back to Lilim, as a 'present'." he explained to the nephilim.

"And... you know how I have a broken horn?" he then asked.

"...yeah...?" Zeke mumbled.

"They had Lilim do it. It was to solidify her 'ownership' of me." Azazel said quietly.

"Well, I technically don't really 'rank' any longer." Azazel replied.

"As a direct assistant to her, in maintaining Cerberus, I exist as a separate entity. So on one hand I do, on the other hand, I don't." he continued.

"It's confusing." he said.

"But the long and short of it, is that I can use the boss as a threat, if someone tries to do anything to me." he explained further.

"...hate doing that, though." he then muttered.

"So the summary is that you're on very thin ice." Zeke said to Lilim.

"That's... whole new levels of shit." he commented quietly.

Zeke just crossed his arms over his chest.

"Well... hmmm." he mumbled.

"There's not a whole lot on this plane to protect her from that." Azazel admitted.

"That being said, the archangels will have an eagle eye on her. Both for her own behaviour, and to watch out for any others trying to come to the surface to start shit." Zeke responded.

"It's not perfect by any stretch, but it MAY be a deterrent." he went on with a small shrug.

"And if she hangs out with you, doesn't she have SOME protection, given your position?" he then asked Azazel.

"Paper-thin." Azazel responded.

"Yes, as the keeper of Cerberus, I technically rank higher than then, but... you know what the boss is like? She'll save ME, but probably won't lift a finger to help Lilim." he added.

"...ok, fair..." Zeke sighed.

"......" Zeke was silent as he heard that.

"Wow." he muttered.

"Yeah..." Azazel said.

"I'm... that's just... wow." Zeke said.

"So she's coming here?" he asked Azazel.

"She's just here to try and get something to help her blend in." Azazel clarified.

"Ahhh, gotcha." Zeke nodded.

"Well... good luck." he said to Lilim.

"...it's impressive you escaped, actually." he then added.

Zeke just sighed.

"Of course there is." he said.

"They can have their little betting fun, then." he told her.

"I'm still alive, and I plan to remain alive for a VERY long time." he said further.

"Though if one DOES do me in... it'll probably be Uncle Gabriel." he went on.

"Regardless, what are YOU doing he-" he started to ask, before raising an eyebrow.

"Ah." he then said.

"Looks like they finally decided to take things up a notch?" he asked.

"......" Zeke was silent for a moment.

"Yeah." he said.

"Yeah, that... sounds right." he told her.

Azazel, meanwhile, looked confused.

"Wait, what?" he asked, looking between them.

"You two know each other??" he asked them.

Zeke sighed in response.

"We've met before, yes." he confirmed.

"Haven't seen each other for a while, as she's confirmed." he added, gesturing to Lilim.

"Hey, the future is important." Ryker responded.

"It's good that you're thinking about it." he told him.

He was then quiet for a moment, and sighed.

"And the future can be very scary." he then admitted. "Trust me, sometimes I can't sleep at night because I'm too busy worrying myself with it." he muttered.

"But if there's any way we can help you in making those plans, let us know." he then added.

Azazel just rolled his eyes.

"Yeah." he said.

"And you're right, they're not." he agreed.

"Jake's a good friend of the boss here, and he's the best security guard I know." he went on.

They then continued to walk, before they both sensed a presence around a nearby corner.

One that was VERY similar to Uriel's. But different.

".....ah." Azazel muttered.

"It's fine!" he called out, as Zeke stepped into view.
