Quirk: Barricade - He can create an invisible barrier of any size and shape (up to a maximum size), as long as he is either behind it, or in the centre of it. Any attacks that hit his barriers have their kinetic energy transferred to him, thus he 'feels the pain' of the attack that he blocked.

In this world are Heroes and Villains. The two sides fight against each other in a constant struggle between order and chaos, good and evil, light and dark, hope and despair. The two forces balance each other out, but somewhere between black and white is a grey area... vigilantes. Heroes at heart, but not recognised as official heroes. Why do they do this? What is their reasoning? One must ask them oneself to find the answer. But here is the story of 2 individuals that have found themselves thrust into that grey area. Can they really be heroes?

He just shrugged.

"Yeah, sure." he said.

"I need to get things ready, anyway." he told them.

"Ready?" Savra asked.

"I need to create a space to sustain a soul." he responded. "To make it that Eke's father can actually be on this plane, and speak with him." he explained further.

The demon was silent for a moment, before smirking.

"Heh. All right." he said.

"I think I can make that happen." he told him.

"...so is Eke's father... in the demonic realm?" Savra asked.

"Naw." was the response. "The afterlife's a lot more grey than one would think. If I put out the call, it'll be answered. Sure enough." he said further with an a-ok, gesture.

Evan rained an eyebrow.

"Ohhhh! So THAT'S what he meant." he added with another laugh.

"Fair enough." he said.

"Anyway, from what I've read, you've been more testy than usual, been verbally lashing out more often, and just seem to overall be suffering from some strong stress." he commented, looking at the file.

"So. Let's have a chat about that." he suggested.

"Any ideas as to where this stress may be coming from?" he asked her.

"Izzy? All right then." Evan responded. "And... no family name?" he then asked. "That's... interesting." he said. "Never seen or heard of that before." he admitted.

"And feel free to call me Evan." he then said. "Whatever you feel most comfortable with." he stated with a small smile.

"I admit, I wasn't expecting you to be so young." he told her.

"Guess that's what Agent Sharp was referring to when he mentioned I should expect the unexpected." he chuckled.

"Anyway, pleasure to meet you."

Evan nodded in response.

"I am, and it is." he told her.

"If you wish, lock the door when you come in, so we'll not be disturbed." he said.

As he regarded her, it struck him how... young she looked. She looked a bit rough, yes, but she looked SO young. Maybe 12? And while he had taken the last name of 'Kiczys', he was still a Fyrane. He could sense some very potent and very strange mana within her.

"You must be..." he went on, checking the file again.

"Eye-zay-ah?" he asked, saying it out phonetically. "Did I pronounce that correctly?" he asked her.

Lindsay nodded.

"I know." he said.

"I'm just glad it's not because he feels ashamed to have the name." he told her. "I can deal with him wanting his own identity to distinguish himself from MY practice. So long as he doesn't deny his heritage." he said.

"You know he doesn't." Casey replied with a smile and a quick kiss on the lips.

"Now go on." she said.

Sure enough, Evan was game for it. And it didn't take long for him to be at the Unit. In fact, he was there the next day, at 1 in the afternoon. He was sitting in one of the smaller conference rooms, with a door that was able to be locked, so they wouldn't be disturbed. He was looking at the files he was given, and familiarising himself with them one last time before the agent showed up.

"...you've got this, Evan." he told himself.

"Just remember to be you. You're not Dad."

"It's what I plan to do." Lindsay responded.

"And the sooner the better, as this sounds like it needs to be dealt with... well, fairly quickly." he went on.

"Guess the agent in question has reached some sort of boiling point, and needs some serious help destressing and letting it all out." he went on.

"Anyway, I'm going to check the roof for him." he told her.

"See where this goes." he added with a smile.

"...I really hope this goes well, too." he then said. "I want to see Evan succeed on his own out there. He's studied so hard and made such good grades. He deserves a chance out there, to shine on his own, without living in MY shadow."

Ryker was silent for a moment, before shrugging.

"All right then." he said.

He then slumped forward a smidgen, before his eyes turned that demonic red once more.

"Yeah?" he asked, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Whatcha want, kid?"

Lindsay just sighed quietly.

"Hal Sharp needs someone to come in and have a consultation with one of his agents. Seems their go-to call-in psychiatrist is unavailable, he called me to come in." he told her.

"...but you know that's not going to be a possibility." he then muttered, slumping forward a little.

"So... I figure, let's give Evan his first chance to prove that all his schooling was worth it." he continued.

"He's done well with this little paid internship he has with me. And if he can prove himself with THIS, it might open up some new doors for him." he reasoned.

Aly returned the hug and nudged him back, as Ryker just smiled at him.

"Hey." he greeted.

"As I said, you look like you've made some kinda big decision." he repeated.

"Something up?"

Aly had returned while Eke was away, and when he he returned, she was grateful to see that he was looking a lot healthier and confident. Ryker, however, had noticed that Eke looked like something had been decided.

And he was curious as to what it was.

"Welcome back." he stated.

"You look like you've come to some sort of major decision." he commented.

"Care to share?"

Ryker visibly relaxed when she ran her hands through his hair, and her let out a low moaning sound of relaxation.

"....mMmMMMmMMmmm..." he murmured, before snapping back to reality.

"Ah, right." he said.

"Yes, he really has." he admitted.

"His father'd be proud."
