"....oh my..." Hal mumbled.

"This is NOT what I expected. At ALL." he said further, before looking back at Kiah.

"KIAH!" he yelled.

"Snap out of it! Pull back!" he told her, though he wondered if it was futile.

Kiah, meanwhile, had one-track thoughts in her mind.

Hate. Kill. Destroy. Get away.

By this point, Hal and Izzy KNEW that something was up. This wasn't supposed to be happening, and they were starting to get VERY concerned for Kiah's safety.

"Damn it!" Hal cursed. "I did NOT see something like this coming!" he growled, before looking at Izea.

"..." he was silent, before sighing quickly.

"What do you hear?" he asked. "Or see, even?" he asked further.

"What is happening to Kiah?" he ended, looking inside the room again.

Whatever it was, this was not something that normally happened when the Fyrane used their rune. This didn't even happen when they were actively creating a link, or trying to, anyway. So what WAS this?

"....I see." Ryker mumbled.

"That's... just... yeah." he sighed, as the phone was answered.

"Hi, Eke!" Aly said with some glee in her tone.

"How's your boys only camping vacation going?" she asked playfully.

"...sounds unnerving." Ryker responded.

"Like, disjointed and unsettling." he went on.

"At least you're awake now." he said.

"Maybe being back home will help." he then suggested.

"Still, you having no appetite is rare, and usually portends to something worse." he added.

She was the only one that could see it as well, and found herself unable to respond to Hal and Izzy calling in and asking if she was all right, and how the process was coming along.

The presence she felt then started to waft towards her, almost like it was starting to engulf the area around her.

And when it was close... she could feel it.

Uncontrollable anger. Rage. The desire for revenge. The feeling of being wronged.

The desire to kill Roxie. Or, seeing as that had been done, destroy all those that would attempt to bring 'justice' to her for doing so.

The one in Mira's body seemed to seize up now... much like everyone else that this happened to.

But it was odd. Kiah was having... immense difficulty with this.

And the more she tried, the more she felt... something.

It felt almost like an overwhelming sense of... anger. An aura of sheer rage and vengeance.

It almost didn't feel... whole, though. Like this wasn't... complete, somehow...

"What the...!?" the one with the spear exclaimed, before looking at Kiah.

"DAMN YOU!" they yelled, as they pulled back to launch the weapon at her.

And then promptly seemed to stop.

"...what the...!?" they asked, looking down and seeing the rune spreading out underneath them.

"What is this?" they inquired.

"What have you done!?"

"...." they were silent for a moment, before shrugging.

"Okay." they said.

They then reached out and grabbed the spear... before promptly using its length to yank and wrench it free from Kiah.

"Excellent!" they exclaimed.

"You've given me what I need to destroy you both!"

"Eh? Weird?" Ryker asked.

"How so?" he asked further.

"Scary? Odd? or just... strange?" he then asked him.

"Also, not hungry." he then said.

"That's concerning."

Hal watched them go, and held his breath, wondering how this would happen. He hoped without a hitch.

'Mira' just sat there, and narrowed their eyes when they saw the two that came in, the spear in hand. They then laughed out loud, shaking their head and looking at the stained blade of it.

"Hah!" they snorted.

"Bet she's having a blast in there." they taunted. "Forced to watch as her life is ruined." they went on.

"Shoulda destroyed it when I had the chance." they then growled.

"But this place reacted too quickly." they cursed.

Hal just shook his head.

"Indeed." he said.

"It's a shame that she's shackled to her past as she is." he went on. "Especially seeing as it's not her fault." he said further. "But that is quite another story..." he mumbled.

They reached the holding cell that 'Mira' was in, and Hal nodded to the two he was with.

"Clear out." he told the guard there, to which they nodded in return and left.

"You going to be okay?" he asked Kiah.

"In case they try anything drastic when you first enter?" he asked further, handing her the spear.

"Not much." Ryker responded.

"Got a fever, mostly." he said, turning down a side street.

"Bit of s shortcut." he muttered.

"Oh, and you spread your wings, grew scales, and your claws stayed out." he then said.

"That happened. Guess it went away during your sleep."

"....ah, yes." Hal responded.

"I recall something like that being reported back when Rowena was rampaging throughout Europe." he said. "Mostly, she just neglected the bodies, and they remained where they were, dying a slow death without orders given to them." he remembered further.

"Some she killed. Some she had kill each other. But mostly, once she had the soul, she was done with them." he sighed.

"Sad, really." he lamented.

"But... I'm sure she doesn't wish to be reminded of that aspect of her past..."

"So I decided to GIVE her some authority." Hal chuckled.

"I figured it would go belly-up, or work splendidly." he reasoned.

"Thanks for making it the latter." he told Izea, as they made their way to the holding cell where 'Mira' was.

"... all right, we'll need to be very careful about this." he said.

"Kiah, I'll pound on the door when the soul is ready to be put in the spear again." he told Kiah.
