"..." Ryker was silent as he heard that.

"I... hm." he mumbled.

"I see." he said quietly.

"I... uh... that is..." he started to say further, but just stopped. And sighed.

He really had NO clue as to what to say here. What he was supposed to say. If anything.

"I'm sorry that happened." he finally told her.

Ryker watched Eke take off, and held Arissa's hand in return.

"Yep." he said.

"Sure has." he agreed.

"...by the way, who's Therius?" he then asked her.

"Eke doesn't seem to know them, and I thought he would."

'...that was strangely calm.' Ryker thought.

"A fly?" Savra asked.

"Where do you think you'll go?" he asked.

"I think he just wanted to cruise about." Ryker commented.

"Been a while since he did, as he just said." he added.

"....I thought you'd know." Ryker replied.

"I never thought to ask that, actually." he said.

"Guess I should do that, come to think of it." he then mumbled.

"Seriously, WHY didn't I ask that...?" he asked himself quietly.

"Ok, this is gonna bug me until I find out."

"You started becoming more draconic. Like some weird fusion of human and dragon." Ryker replied.

"Arissa called it a 'beast flare' or something." he went on.

"Said Arkus and Therius went through them too." he added.

"Though it seems THIS one was pretty bad in general." he then said.

"Dunno if that actually answers anything..."

Savra was a little surprised by that, and Ryker just raised an eyebrow.

"He was brilliant." they said.

"He respected all living things, and loved the world." they told him further.

"His ultimate goal was for dragons to get along with all other races." they finished.

"Noble." Ryker commented.

"Also, quite the set'a pipes on you now." he told Eke.

"It was less adventurous than you think." Savra responded.

"I hid, and when the drakes showed up, he merely gave them misdirection, and when they were gone, he said it was safe." they explained to Eke further.

"A small gesture, but a very nice one." they smiled.

"He also loved sweet things, much like yourself." they then told him.

"His favourite, from what I recall, were caramel chocolate balls."

"You can check on work in due time." Ryker replied.

"I'm sure it's fine." he said.

"Your father was an amazing man." Savra then told Eke. "He was kind, compassionate, and he treated everyone with respect." they said further.

"He even helped me escape some weird drakes that wanted to destroy me." they added.

"We're fine." Ryker responded.

"She missed me, I missed her." he said.

"She's been worried about you as well." he then added.

He wondered if he should bring up how she had looked at Savra the first time she saw them, but decided against it. This probably wasn't the right time, anyway.

"But yeah, we're both doing good, overall." he restated with a grin.

"...thank you." Nate responded. "He wouldn't have been able to keep that up for long." he said. "Just because the sheer amount of paperwork would have buried him in no time." he then said further, shaking his head.

"...I'm assuming you're hired?" he added after a pause.

"I am." Arryn confirmed with a chuckle.

"Then welcome aboard." Nate replied with a smile. "I'm sure you'll find this place very nice to work in." he assured her.

Lindsay just sighed as he listened to the man on the other side of the phone. He could sympathise with what was being said, but he was swamped with work as it was. He was going to have NO free time for the next month or so, and this needed tending to. Unfortunately, he couldn't shift his schedule even a LITTLE bit.

"I'll see if I can-" he started to say further, before pausing a moment. "...are you willing to give a chance to someone fresh out of post-secondary, who's only done some assistance and internship?" he asked.

"If you can vouch for them, yes." the man responded.

"Excellent." Lindsay replied. "I'll call you later with the details." he told him, before they formally ended the call and he hung up... just as his wife walked past the open door to his office.

"Oh! Casey!" he called out.

"You know where Evan is?" he asked, as he stood up and started to make his way to where she was.

"Oh! Thank you!" Nate responded, accepting them.

"This should make for some fascinating reading, to massively understate it." he chuckled.

"I'll be sure to take the utmost of care of this books." he then assured her.

"...so what brings you here, aside from these books?" he asked.

"I've heard rumours that you've been seen near Agent Sharp's office lately." he commented.

"Yeah, sure." Nate responded. "I was told to go on break when I finished this, which happens to be now." he told her. "So, perfecting timing on THAT part." he laughed.

He then grabbed a half-full bottle of water, opened it, and downed the rest as he walked his way over towards her, dropping the empty bottle on the small desk that was off to the side.

"And you're welcome." he added with a smile.

"So, what's up?" he then asked.

"You lookin' for me for something?"

As she looked around, one of the male staff that worked there noticed her, and made his way over.

"Hello there." he greeted her.

"Ah, I remember you." he then said. "Good to see you're doing well." he went on, looking her over.

"Is there something I can help you with?" he then asked.

"I'm looking for Nathan." Arryn responded.

"Ah yes, he should be just finished sorting the latest shipment we got in, if you'd like to go see him." the man responded, gesturing to where the area was.

Ilias nodded slightly, as Helena disappeared back into his hair.

"All right." he said.

"Thanks again." he told her, gesturing to the book.

"And I'll see you later... Arryn, right?" he finished, trying to remember her name.

"Am I remembering that correctly?" he asked.
