"Probably Ilias." Hal replied.

"Wait." he then said.

"No, it's Lyle." he told her.

"He was the first one to showcase this sort of behaviour." he reasoned.

Cain, meanwhile, knelt down to speak with his father.

Azazel responded by falling to his knees.

"..." he was silent for a moment, before his hands clenched into fists.

"Damn it." he cursed.

"I can't believe I succumbed." he said.

"I almost hurt my son..." he said further, guilt in his tone.

"....shit." Hal cursed.

"So what do we do NOW?" Cain asked.

"That... is a very good question." Hal said.

"If my assumption is correct, then we need serious help getting Erica back. And the one that can help us is... not in the right state." he went on, as Azazel turned to them angrily.

"Maybe we should escape..." Cain mumbled nervously.

Hal just narrowed his gaze at her.

"I'm going to find a way to bring Erica back." he said.

"And I'm going to make you pay for what you've done here." he went on.

"You've thrown this place into chaos."

Azazel was about to outright attack her, when a blast from Hal sent him smashing against the nearby wall, dazing him.

"He's not in the right state to make that choice." the djinn commented.

"But I am." he said.

"And I deem it to be not worth the risk." he concluded.

Something snapped in Azazel, and he glared at her, his eyes flaring red.

"How about I start with YOU!?" he yelled.

"Where... did Erica go...?" Cain asked.

"....I... can only hazard a guess." Hal mumbled.

"And it's not good."

Azazel was fighting with himself.

He looked ready to fire another attack at Erica.

But he stopped himself, somehow.

He then let out a yell of frustration, before collapsing to his hands and knees, pounding the floor, but unknowingly sending out pulses of demonic mana as he did so.

Pulses that would definitely cause discomfort and a dull pain when they hit someone.

It was clear that Azazel didn't want to do this.

But something took over him for a brief moment, and he again threw a ball of fire at her.

Cain reacted and knocked her out of the way, taking the hit himself, in the side.

"Stop!" he told Azazel.

"...can't..." Azazel replied, clearing in mental pain.

Azazel looked at Erica, and his eyes started to glow red.

"...uh-oh." Cain mumbled.

"That's understating it." Hal added.

"...all of you..." Azazel said.

"...run..." he told them.

His arm then shakily rose up and he shot a ball of hellfire at Erica.

Though it WAS a small one.

Hal was silent for a moment, before looking at Cain.

"Follow if you dare." he said.

He then ran off, following Erica.

"...well, I DO want answers..." Cain mumbled.

He then sighed and quickly followed Hal.

"Drink." Cain replied.

"And I am confused." he added.

"We all are." Jake said.

"It will be explained once it's taken care of." Hal told him.

"All right." Cain responded.

"Right." Jake said.

It was then that Cain walked through the door.

"Here." he told Erica, handing her what she'd asked for.

"What's going on?" he asked.

Hal followed Erica to the entrance, and they both stopped when Jake looked at them.

"....." he was silent, before narrowing his eyes.

"Frankly, I don't know WHAT to believe, anymore." he said, seemingly out of nowhere.

"You smell the same." he told Erica.

"But... wait..." he muttered.

"Something seems different about you." he went on.

"...the arm?" he wondered aloud.

"Ah, all right." Cain replied.

"I can be there in... well, a minute. Literally." he told her.

"See you soon." he finished.

The call was then ended, and the phone returned to Hal.

"I assume you have a plan?" he asked Erica.
