Hal just looked to her, and sighed.

"Great." he said.

"And I don't know how soon I can get someone there to deal with it." he muttered.

"...you've done it before, right?" he asked.

"Think you might be able to do it now?" he asked further.

"See if you can identify the problem, at least?"

Ryker narrowed his eyes some.

"...maybe." he said.

"Maybe not." he mumbled.

He then cleared his throat loudly, and looked skyward.

"So, what do you think?" he asked.

"Sleep in the vehicle, or a tent out here?"

Leo nodded.

"All right." he replied.

"I'll leave you to go and do that." he told her.

"Let me know if you need help." he said.

"I'm just going to make sure none of these flickers end up frying Chloe's circuits." he then mumbled.

"Indeed." Leo replied.

Sure enough, they got to work, but about 40 minutes into it, the lights and power started to flicker some, causing them to lose some of their work. Thankfully they backed up a couple of times, but it was still a setback.

"Awww, hell." Leo said.

"What NOW?" he asked.

"We can't work if the power is gonna fritz like this." he commented further.

Leo just sighed.

"All right, let's do it." he said.

He then made sure his computer was properly detached from Chloe, and that Lunet could connect HER laptop to the android.

"All right...." he mumbled.

"You should be connected." he said.

"I should have plugged into the right ports." he went on. "Lemme know if the proper drives are showing up."

Leo just nodded.

"You got it." he replied.

The two of them then made their way to the room where Chloe was... and Lunet could see Chloe's shut-down and lifeless shell.

"Right." Leo said, approaching the laptop that was connected to her.

"This is the error I'm getting." he told her, showing what was on the screen.

"I can extrapolate from that only so far, so feel free to put your expertise to good use." he added with a small sigh.

Ryker grew silent for a sudden moment, before shaking his head.

".....ah...." he stammered.

He then just sighed heavily.

"...I'm not going to argue." he said.

"It'd be pointless to." he reasoned.

"You're right." he confirmed.

"Cool." Leo replied.

"Let's get moving then." he said.

With that, the two of them disappeared in a swirl of sand, appearing in a designated area in the R&D lab.

"All right, let's go." he told her.

"See if you can't figure out what the hell's going on with Chloe."

"Yeah, your laptop." Leo replied.

"And a known safe boot disc for Chloe's AI." he told her.

"She's buggin' out, and it has to be a software thing." he continued.

"Because her hardware's just fine." he said further.

"Regardless, come expecting to do a full system reboot."

Azari took a step back.

He then nodded, signifying that now was a good time for her to be picked up.

He also gestured to the vial, showing her to pocket it and hide it.

Then, as quick as anything, he dashed off, seeming to disappear in the distance.

Like he was never there.

"Yes." Azari replied.

"You will confirm once you have finished the mission." he told her.

"You will do this by leaving the empty vial in your room once you return home from finishing the mission." he said.

"Hide it. I will return in one week to collect it." he went on.

"Understand?" he asked.

"A week." Azari replied.

"Get it done by then." he told her.

"By ANY means necessary." he added.

"And you never saw me. Never heard from me." he continued.

"Ie: this conversation did not happen." he went on.

"Once you finish your mission, you will return to what you were doing previously." he then finished.

The man smirked, and took off his hood, revealing himself to be Azari.

"Here." he said, handing her the vial.

"Take this with you the next time you go to the Unit." he told her.

"Find a way to get it into the ventilation system." he went on.

"Make sure NOBODY sees this, or you putting it in the system."

The one there just smirked.

"Oh, no." he replied.

"I'm here looking for you." he told her.

"You're going to do a little something for Vanessa." he then said further.

"After all..." he went on, before pausing.

"The future is in her hands." he finished, as though he were reciting something to her.
