"Well, let's see if we can't improve this situation." Azazel replied.

"I'll head to work right now and drop this off." he told her.

"Hopefully you'll get a call soon." he went on, before pausing.

"Ah..." he stammered.

"I assume you DO have a phone, yes?" he asked, looking at the papers again.

He wasn't sure if he'd seen a phone number in her contact info or not.

Azazel looked at it, scanned it, and nodded.

"Right." he said.

"I'll get this to him ASAP." he told her.

"...and yes, this place is... not... I mean..." he stammered further, before sighing.

"Yeah, this place is... well, it's better than being homeless." he commented.

"I at least hope the landlord or landlady is all right." he added.

"All right." Azazel replied.

They then spent the next 10 minutes or so chatting and eating, before they finished and put their garbage away.

"Cool." he said as they left.

"Let's head to your apartment." he told her.

"I'll take your resume and give it to my boss."

Azazel just laughed a little.

"It's cool." he said.

"I got the time." he told her.

"We can head back whenever you want to." he said further.

"How much savings do you have?" he then asked.

"How long can you survive without a job?"

"Hey, no worries." Azazel replied.

"...I still have a bit of time left on my break." he then said.

"If you can get a resume done up, I can deliver it myself." he told her.

"See if we can't fast-track you to an interview, at least." he reasoned.

"That doable?" he asked.

"Or do you need more time?"

"I... might be able to get you a job." he responded.

"If I recall correctly, the R&D department has requested a secretary/receptionist for their area." he told her.

"They need the organization and such. It's just getting to be too much for them." he continued.

"Seeing as you have the experience, and fulfil other criteria, you may be able to get a job there." he reasoned.

"I can talk to my boss about it." he then offered.

"....." Azazel was silent for a moment.

"Administrative..." he mumbled.

"Hmm." he muttered.

"Gab..." he then said, addressing her.

"You know about the world, right?" he asked.

"Which is to say, the 'truth'?" he clarified, using finger quotes.

Az was silent, and just sighed.

"Yeah, you mentioned that." he said.

"Said it had, like, a 55% chance of happening." he went on.

"...seems that 5% made the difference." he mumbled.

"But you had to move?" he then asked her.

"Where are you going to live? And what kind of job are you going to do here?" he asked further.

"I didn't expect a run-in with you, either." Azazel commented.

"And I'm actually on break." he told her.

"..." he was then silent, before smirking.

"Alone." he said.

"Care to fix that?" he asked with a light chuckle.

The one she had spoken to paused as he was addressed.

He was silent, before the gears turned in his head.

"....wait..." he said.

"Wait, hold on..." he muttered, turning around.

He regarded the woman that had addressed him, and was silent for another moment.

".....Gab?" he asked.

"Given what Kiah experiments with, that honestly wouldn't surprise me in the slightest." he responded with a bit of a wry chuckle.

"But I know what you're saying." he said.

"For now, just concentrate on getting Chloe up and running again." he went on.

"If you need my help, you know to just ask." he added.

"And thank you for the temporary fix." he continued.

"You've got a knack for this sort of stuff."

Hal accepted the marble, and nodded.

"Good." he replied.

"I'll get a tech down there soon to see if there's a more permanent fix to be made, but as long as it works now, that's what matters." he reasoned.

"You really are a whiz." he continued with a chuckle.

"A clever girl, for sure." he added, ruffling her hair slightly.

"Yeah." Leo replied.

"There's been some more flickers, and then it really flickered rapidly, but now it seems like it's stable." he continued.

"Hang on a sec." he went on, before pausing.

"....nope." he said.

"No flickers." he told her.

"Dunno what you did, but seems like you either fixed the problem, or it solved itself."

Hal dug in one of the drawers he had, before taking out a small marble and tossing it towards her.

"You know the deal." he said.

"Go on." he told her.

"And tell me what's going on, and whether or not you can fix it, or did fix it." he went on.

"Regardless, return here ASAP with a full report, no matter what." he finished.
