She could tell that her mana was doing something.

And the dark elf didn't like it.

"Ngh." he growled.

"Yes, I was warned about you." he said.

"Mistress told me that the pure necromancer would be my natural enemy." he went on, before using his glowing hand to grasp at her chest.

"However, I was bolstered to resist it." he went on.

"Temporarily, anyway." he said further.

"Now, let's see which one of us has a stronger will, shall we?" he asked tauntingly.

Francis narrowed his eyes when Aimee said what she did.

"You know, back in my day, females did as they were told." he said.

"Why did things have to degrade as they have?" he sighed, shaking his head slightly.

Then, before she could answer, he lunged for her, his arm outstretched, his hand coated in the same crimson mana.

"Now just behave!"

"Kidnapping you by force?" Francis asked.

"Oh, please. That is brutal and unrefined." he told her.

"What next, you think I'm going to put you in a deathtrap?" he then asked with a laugh.

"Please, I work in a more subtle and refined manner than THAT." he told her.

He then raised a hand and brought his fingers together, a sliver of crimson mana forming between them.

"I will get you to come with me." he explained.

"And you'll be as good as gold." he continued.

"A perfect little doll."

"....you know what's going on." the man responded.

"Oh, but where are my manners?" he then asked rhetorically, slapping his cheek and looking faux surprised and shocked. "I've forgotten to introduce myself!" he said further.

"My name is Francis." he said further. "Francis Raziel." he introduced himself fully, taking a bow.

And that's when Aimee knew JUST how in over her head she might be.

"And this is regarding the little whore that he's decided to take under the protection of his house." he explained to her.

"But I'm sure he's already told you all about it. Or the little tramp has. Whatever. If not, you're probably very confused, and will continue to be so." he went on, stepping closer.

"To summarise, he's taken something that I want, so I will take something that he values." he then informed Aimee.

"It's nothing personal, believe me. You're just his family. And therefore make an EXCELLENT bargaining chip." he finished, his smile growing a little wider.

"Woah, woah, okay, okay." Ryker responded.

"Well... there may be a solution to that." he said.

"What about backpacking in Europe sometime?" he suggested.

"See the countryside, take in the nature, that sort of thing." he clarified further.

"How about it?" he asked.

"That sound like it might be worth it?"

"What has he gotten himself into? More than he bargained for." the man responded.

"And me? I'm part of that." he said.

He then took off his hat, revealing his dark grey skin and pointed ears.

And his cruel smile.

"See, I'm someone that he's becoming a thorn in the side to." he told her.

"And... well, he's a fool that won't listen to reason." he continued.

"So, sadly, it's going to have to come to this."

There was silence for a moment, before the handle turned slowly. The door opened, and an adult figure stepped inside. They were wearing a trenchcoat, and had a large hat on, covering their face, and seemed to be moving slowly.

"....greetings." they greeted her, the voice showing them to be male.

"You are... Miss LeBlanc?" he asked.

"Aimee Leblanc?" he then clarified, shutting the door behind him and quickly locking it when he did.

"I have some business to speak with you about." he told her.

"Regarding your brother, actually." he added.

After about half an hour, it seemed like nobody was showing up.

However, just then, there was a knock on her door.

It was light, but there was conviction behind it... and there was something else.

She couldn't put her finger on it, but something seemed... off.

Like there was... something on the other side of the door.

Danger? No, that couldn't be right. Could it?

Or was she just tired and out-of-sorts?

"...." Rene was silent, before leaving the room, saying goodbye to Lex, and then using a water bubble to teleport away.

Lex, meanwhile, just sighed after Rene left.

"...." he was silent, before getting up from the couch and going to get a drink.

He wondered when Lilim would come downstairs.

And what sort of expression would she be wearing?

...and why did he care so much?

Why was this bothering him?

"....yeah, I suppose so." Rene admitted.

"Regardless." he then mumbled.

"I should... probably go." he told her.

"Seems you're fine. That's what matters." he reasoned, clearing his throat a little.

"I need to head back home, anyway." he then added.

"......." he was then silent, before looking at her.

"This is pointless to say, but I'll say it anyway." he commented.

"You're good."

"Open relationship." was all Rene managed to get out.

And he then lunged for her again.

About a half-hour later, Rene was sitting off to the side, a hand at the side of his head.

"....hm." he mumbled.

"Well, that was something." he said.

"I am stiff and sore all over, and I'll probably hurt for a couple of days." he went on.

"...never lost myself to stupid carnal desires quite like THAT before..." he then admitted.

Rene was... conflicted.

On one hand, he felt like prey.

But on the other hand, his predatory desires were rising.

Rapidly.

He knew this woman was stronger than him. She was more capable than him.

But she was injured.

And he was a predator. An apex predator.

But that was on his own turf. The water.

This wasn't the water. Did that matter? What was she doing?

All of this was causing him to sweat heavily, and he gulped audibly.

"I... I..." he stammered, before leaping forward, seemingly right towards her, hunger and desire in his eyes.

Rene was silent as he looked in the direction of where Lex had called from.

"......ah..." he stammered.

"Hey, Lex!" he called back.

"Just making sure she's okay!" he said.

This was something new for him.

It was a new sensation.

For the first time, ever, he felt like... prey.

He wasn't the predator.

Rene was wide-eyed and breathing heavily, before he shook his head slightly.

"Ngh." he grunted.

"Listen." he said.

"I'm all for fun. But there's a time and a place for everything." he went on.

"Besides, what about-" he started to ask, before they heard Lex.

"Hey!" he called to where they were.

"Everything cool!?"
