Lex looked over towards her and raised an eyebrow.

"My... pillow?" he asked.

"Yep, your pillow." she confirmed.

"Uh... all right?" Lex responded in a confused tone, before getting up and leaving the room. He was gone for but a minute, before returning with said pillow.

"Here." he said, handing it to her.

"Something wrong with it?" he asked.

Lex just looked at her and was silent for a moment.

"...well, just know that, even if the heavens have abandoned you to this wretched world, I'm still here." he told her.

"I'll do whatever I can to help you." he said.

"And I'll stand by you, no matter what." he assured her further.

"At least there are SOME kind souls left in this world, given that you were saved." he sighed.

"....damn it, I really thought we'd be safe and happy by this point in our lives." he mumbled.

Lex was stunned silent for a moment, his mouth slightly agape.

"...what." he said.

"I'm sorry... what!?" he exclaimed.

He then narrowed his eyes and gritted his teeth.

"Can nobody just leave us alone?" he snarled.

"God damn it all." he cursed.

"It's like you've just been forsaken. Left to just fend for yourself." he said further.

"At least whomever it was seems to be powerful. I'm glad they saved you." he sighed.

"...company?" Lex asked.

"That was some... powerful company..." he mumbled.

"But... okay then..." he said further.

"How are you doing?" he asked her. "You look a bit tired." he went on.

"Market overly busy today?"

She received silence as a response for a moment, before Lex came walking in.

"All right..." he started. "What the hell was that?" he asked.

"SOMETHING assaulted me when I came into the house." he told her.

"But it was gone as quick as I felt it." he said further.

"So what's going on?" he asked her.

"If you know, anyway." he added, making his way to a chair and collapsing in it.

"All right, if you're sure." Ryker responded.

"Start climbin' again. I'll bring up the rear." he told her.

"And I'll catch ya if you slip or fall." he assured him.

"May as well use my demonic wings at some point." he shrugged.

"Well... manifest them and use them, that is."

"We're not usual angels, but we're still angels." Uriel responded.

"We're not demons." he assured her.

What followed was close to 5 hours of small talk and relaxing, before Uriel suddenly sighed.

"...and now I have to go." he told her.

"When an archangel starts spending too much time on the surface at once, the others get squirrely." he said. "And you probably do NOT want any of my siblings paying attention to you." he muttered, standing up.

"Well, thank you again for allowing me a brief reprieve." he thanked her.

"And if you want to talk to me again, just use one of MY feathers in a summoning rune. It'll be like an obvious beacon for me." he explained.

"...and since God's calmed down with the punishment of mortals and stuff, we archangels tend to find ourselves with a LOT of free time on our hands." he finished, before they heard the door open... and Lex yell out slightly.

"That's my cue." Uriel said.

"Bye Aimee." he finished, before disappearing from where he was in a flash of white-hot lightning, causing 5 feathers to start to float gently down.

"If I were the same me I was long ago, I probably would." Uriel admitted.

"However, I'm not." he said.

"When we archangels were created, we embodied an aspect of God, and as such, that was all we knew. It was how we acted, it was our core personality. Or, more accurately, it was our ONLY personality." he clarified.

"But, as time as passed, and... circumstances changed... we've grown to have more complex personalities and such." he informed her.

"So while you probably have transgressions in your past, odds are they're nothing worth having God's Vengeance brought down upon you." he then assured her.

"Would I have healed you earlier if that had not been the case?" he asked.

Uriel figured that dwelling on her attack was not the best thing now, so he decided to focus on what she spoke about last.

"Well, you read correctly." he told her.

"So long ago, we archangels were created to embody the various aspects of God." he explained. "And each archangel was given an aspect, and as such, does lay claim to it." he continued.

"As you just heard about me." he went on.

"I am Uriel, Archangel of Vengeance, bringer of God's divine punishment."

"...I'm not sure." Uriel responded.

"Okay, I AM sure." he then admitted.

"I wanted to get the HELL away from Gabriel." he snarled.

"But I noticed that you were summoning someone, I felt my brother's presence in it, which was odd to me, so I... well... hijacked it, I guess you could say." he revealed.

"And when I saw what was happening, I took action." he told her.

"I figured since I appeared, I had a responsibility." he reasoned.

"...that and seeing what they did to you REALLY stirred God's Vengeance in me." he added.

Uriel sighed again.

"I don't know." he said.

He then paused for a moment.

"Hm." he mumbled.

"I'm still stuck on how my brother saved you." he told her. "It's so unlike him." he went on.

"And there's no doubt it happened, the feather proves it." he reasoned.

"..." he was then silent, thinking about it some more, before shrugging.

"So. How many times are you attacked, would you say?" he asked her.

"Essentially, yes." Uriel replied.

"If you choose to make such a thing." he told her.

He then shrugged as she said what she did.

"Makes little difference to me." he said.

"Whenever an angel leaves this realm, at least a few feathers are guaranteed to fall." he informed her.

"But they never stick around, for reasons I just told you." he went on.

"And hey, may as well take advantage of what your mana allows you to do." he reasoned.

Ryker just rolled his eyes.

"Right." he said.

He then sighed and shook his head slightly.

"Look, just don't hurt yourself doing this." he told him.

"It's fine to rely on others for help."

Uriel nodded.

"You'd be correct." he told her.

"If that were possible." he said.

"All angel's feathers disintegrate immediately when the come into contact with something solid." he informed her further, before pausing.

"Except for ONE exception." he then added.

"The touch of a pure-aligned necromancer." he revealed.

"Once they touch an angel's feather, they make it permanent."
