"Right..." Nate responded.

She could hear it in his voice. He didn't want to go, didn't want to leave her. But she was all right, and he would be needed in the rest of the medical wing. So he did need to go, and help.

He then sighed, and looked at her.

"Take care." he said.

"...love you." he finished.

"I hope so, too." Nate replied.

"I know this place has survived a lot." he said.

"...but it scares me to think that this might be it." he admitted.

"Anyway..." he then mumbled.

"For the most part, it seems like you're all right, in terms of vitals and such."

Nathan paused for a moment.

"...eh?" he muttered.

"That... that's ominous." he said.

"And the way you said it makes me think that this won't be ending well in the slightest." he went on.

He was then silent, and looked around.

"Maybe... this is finally it for the Unit."

Nate was silent for a momet, and then sighed.

"I get that feeling too." he said.

"Because yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if that was mana." he admitted.

"That reaction was... well, it was explosive. And that's not normal." he reasoned.

He then shook his head and proceeded to check all her vitals.

"This... is probably a targeted attack."

Nathan nodded in response.

"Of course." he replied.

"I'll check all your vitals and make sure to monitor them closely." he told her.

"I won't let anything happen to you." he then declared, before pausing.

"...well, anything more, anyway." he clarified.

"I'd normally get Dr. Edwards to tend to this, but she's got several cases she's looking after at the same time right now." he then sighed.

He might have been able to see her life aura(s), but he was certainly no mind-reader. And while he was decently perceptive, sometimes things slipped over him when he was focusing on something else.

In this case, he was so relieved that she had survived the electric shock, that he missed her sigh at the end, and didn't notice that subtle clues in her attitude and voice would indicate that her agreement with him was... possibly not sincere.

So he just smiled, and nodded in response.

"Heh, good." he said.

"This place is already insane enough as is from the lockdown, I don't need anything happening to you." he told her.

"We all need to stick together at this point."

"All right then." he responded.

"From what I can tell, you experienced a... well, a massive electrical shock from using the toaster oven." he told her.

"The toaster oven is fried, there's a massive burn mark around the outlet, you were knocked into the fridge, and you have a nasty reminder of it on your hand." he went on.

"....left a dent in the fridge, too." he then informed her.

"But just relax. I... well... hm." he muttered.

"I'm sure Ebony will be okay, and you will as well." he said.

"All of you."

"Hey, it's all right." he responded.

"Just try and relax." he told her.

"What happened was traumatic, to say the least, but you seem to have made it out alive." he went on.

"And the medical wing will keep it that way." he said further.

"What's the last thing you remember?" he then asked.

"I figured as much." he replied.

"...barely." he mumbled.

"I'll get you to the medical wing." he then told her.

"Because... whatever did this, could very well have killed you." he said further, before looking at the mark that had been scorched onto her.

"...that doesn't look good." he said.

"Looks... vaguely ominous..."

Even though she didn't let out a cry, the sound of her hitting the fridge and then landing on the floor was heard by someone.

And then came running into the room, freezing in horror at what they saw.

"Ali-!" he started to exclaim, before pausing.

"Ebony!" he corrected himself, before racing over towards her and kneeling down where she was.

"Hey!" he exclaimed.

"Hey, are you conscious!?" he then asked, checking for a pulse.

"Okay." Ilias responded.

They then said their goodbyes, and he left the medical wing, making his way back to the lab. Once he got there, he checked the outlet she'd plugged her cell phone into, and saw the telltale burn marks there.

"...geez." he muttered.

"This is... unreal." he said.

"This would have killed her, had she not been so strong." he went on.

'...the HELL is going on...?' he thought.

Ilias sighed quietly.

"I... really want to." he said, and both Kiah and Angela knew it was out of concern.

"But I can't." he muttered.

"I'm second-in-command at R&D, so I really should be getting back." he lamented.

"Try and stop this from happening AGAIN." he mumbled further.

"Kiah, I'll let you know if any new info crops up." he told the chemist.

"...." Savra was silent once more... before burrowing their head in Eke's chest.

They grabbed onto Eke's collar, but he could tell there was no malice in it.

And then they started to shake a little.

Eke could hear the faint sobbing emanating from Savra, as they continued to hold Eke close.

"...thank you..." they whispered in a shaky tone.

"Just... thank you..."

Ilias nodded.

"All right." he said.

The two of them then proceeded to make their way to the medical wing, taking their time so that Kiah could maintain her balance, and when they finally arrived, he looked around slightly.

"...hello?" he asked.

"Someone needs medical attention." he said further.

"Angela? Someone?"
