I'm so sorry, it really is hard when you feel like you're the only one carrying the load while the other gets to relax as much as they want. While spending funds that should go toward regaining the balance D:
Have you been able to communicate with him about this?
Weed is indeed a luxury and while withdrawals are still a thing, and they will turn him into a royal pain for a bit, if he's doing it for himself and his family (you) and it means enough to him, it's very much possible to put a stop to it. Like you said, until you guys are stable enough to afford it again, if it is something you felt like picking back up.
I am grateful in my situation that quitting was not a problem to my partner. Its hard because anxiety and emotions get stronger when you cold-turkey it, but he did it because, like you suggest, there are more important things. The greatest difficulty is battling depression and learning how to sit with himself. He holds a lot of anger and regret, guilt, and just a ton of negative emotion that weed used to be his go-to to numb all of that. But as he works toward healing rather than hiding from his trauma, he's gradually finding that he feels a more true sense of ease and happiness without a substance.
If he is willing to put it down, I do recommend getting a jar of something like m&m's to help occupy his mouth, to counter cravings or munchies

Yeah, that makes sense! I think people are getting so clouded over numbers and algorithms, and what drama to scream at. There's not very many places to just chill.
Voltra is the closest thing, but sometimes when I'm really itching to be social I feel like I end up just flooding the forums here while maybe just a few people are online who are also trying to find something to do XD
But still, at least its still happy here!
Artfight is the only other thing I really enjoy online, but thats only during on-season in July >>
its less of a social media and more of an art event thing, but their discord can be fun sometimes

ISN'T IT? My mother got me the kit for christmas, as well as two other (larger) miniature structures. Asian-style houses and whatnot. They're so friggin pretty but so expensive! I might need to make a clear case for them to keep them nice when I finish building ;v;
Having a cat makes me feel like I need to put everything breakable into a bubble..
And thank you!! I was trying to practice magic effects so it hurt my brain lmao

Yeahh.. I just made a new DA real quick just to see if its even worth getting into again.
It looks like the filters have gotten better, but still its just another algorithm-y, antisocial platform.
Is it possible to avoid NFT wars by using DA instead of Twitter, I wonder :vanora_worried:
Hardly know how those things work, but just seems to be another reason I'm mildly tempted to deactivate my account entirely

Thats a very sweet idea, the pet thing! O:
Thankfully my child is still very much alive *waves hand covered in cat scratches*
But that would be something I'd love to do in the distant future.
This is what the ramen shop will look like when I finish!
It came missing pieces for the bench, sand and bushes. But I have ideas to get creative with it >:D
And sure! I post my stuff on twitter mainly (@ ninabeandraws) this one's a recent one ive been happy with

I think its just a change in generations. By now everyone from before are so busy with work and life, or lost interest in the simple things like old internet joys from the past. We're in our 20's-late 30's and bills are ever looming over us--
The new generations seemingly have less interest in close relations, and only speak in meme (but also, often children still so I run away) XD
My attempts to participate in discord servers is often not successful

I remember when like, Deviantart was super fun and sociable. I used to primarily use that site and Gaiaonline, and would have a bunch of people to talk to when I'd log in. I felt more satisfied when I'd finish a drawing and post it because it wasn't just likes and follows, it was friends recognizing the OCs I drew and making relevant jokes and comments.
I miss that!
I'm sure we all know how both of those sites have declined. Gaia has become painfully insignificant and slow, DA algorithm sucks more now and its all so porn-y in the weirdest of ways.
I ended up using Twitter, and still do, for my art posts. Last year there was a moment where people socialized a little more on there with me, but thats cause I got into certain events that brought some of us together. But by now they've all stopped talking to me and I'm just back to being invisible. The rest of what Twitter offers is just very... outraging and often misinformed or misworded headlines and people screaming at each other lol
I'm getting so bored!
I miss how wholesome internet used to be, at least from my experiences. I want a good art-hosting website that is friendly and not mobile-based ;v;
