Rene just looked at her, almost stone-faced.

"Yeah, don't swing that way." he said.

"Much to my chagrin." Gavin commented with a smirk.

Rene just rolled his eyes.

"But you definitely have a silver tongue, young lady." Gavin then said to Kalin.

"Such intellect and charisma will serve you well in the world of law." he told her.

"In fact, I can see you striking out on your own and succeeding wildly." he then said.

"Would you allow my firm the honour of being a stepping stone along the way?" he asked.

Rene just sighed.

"I was referring to your sense of humour." he said.

The man that was there laughed as well.

"Seems she's good at getting to you as well." he commented.

"Ah! But where are my manners!?" he suddenly exclaimed.

"I have not yet introduced myself." he said.

"Gavin Pearson, at your service." he introduced himself to Kalin with a bow.

That name was immediately one she recognised. Gavin Pearson was the head and owner of Pearson Law Firm, the hottest and most successful law firm in the not only the state, but the entire surrounding area.

Rene just laughed.

"Then you shouldn't have had the details on your laptop that was password-protected, hidden under some subfolders, under a file name that had nothing to do with it." he told her.

"It's like you practically invited me!" he declared.

"Oh wait, you did." he added with another laugh.

The man that was there let out a chuckle as well.

"Rene was right." he said.

"You ARE a card, Miss Kiczys." he told her.

Rene just smiled.

"Hey, no problem." he said.

Sure enough, as the time went by, things DID improve for Kalin. People started to leave her alone, she was getting her work done, and the 4 people that she had found on her bed the one time... well, they weren't doing so good.

Two of the males died from apparent heart attacks, and the other male and the female ended up as hard-core addicts. So much so that nobody had heard from the male since that day, and the female was apparently on the streets now, doing whatever she could for money, having become 'a stain on her family's name', according to high society's rumour mill.

She kept on her work, her grades continued to stay where they were, and sure enough, she graduated at the top. She had invited Rene to her graduation ceremony as well, and she was delighted to see him there.

As she accepted her diploma and looked out, she saw Rene there, smiling, but there was also another person there. Another male.

He was wearing a dark suit, but what really stood out about him were his deep blue eyes and his chocolate hair... which had rose-coloured highlights in it. They were talking with each other... and it seemed like they were talking about HER.

It was something she made a note to ask about when she was free to mill about and socialise.

"Still." Rene said.

"You WILL need a place until such time." he told her.

"My place is open." he said further.

"Remember that." he went on.

"I'd have no problems putting you up." he said.

"But you know that." he added with a chuckle.

Aly just got close and pulled him into a hug.

"Eke..." she said.

"No matter what, I'm here for you." she told him.

"Remember that." she continued.

"We'll get through anything. Together."

"Good!" Rene exclaimed.

"Then that shall be what you use for it!" he chuckled.

"A good computer is invaluable for schoolwork." he reasoned.

"So keep it up." he told her further.

"Oh, and feel free to stay with me after you graduate." he then said.

"You'll need a place to stay, after all."

"Indeed." Rene responded.

"And now? We make our way home." he said.

"Well... my apartment." he clarified.

"And I'll get you a replacement laptop." he continued.

"Same kind as that one?" he asked.

"Was it all right for what little use you got out of it?"

Rene just laughed.

"Good idea." he said.

"Make them work for their torment." he said further.

"Delightfully cruel." he went on.

"That's what I love about humans sometimes." he continued.

"Put your mind to work, and you can truly be frightening."

Rene raised an eyebrow at the end.

"Whatever you say." he replied with a small ambiguous smirk.

"And an envelope? Yeah, I can do that." he told her.

"I'll need to type it up to make it untraceable." he reasoned.

"But yeah, that works." he said.

"Seems things are starting to look up for you now." he then commented.

"Good. Keep ploughing on ahead."

Rene nodded in response.

"I don't mind at all." he told her.

"I certainly hope things improve at your dorm after this." he then said.

"If not, you still have options. Remember that." he continued.

"Anyway, seems like this was a success." he chuckled.

"You'll be surprised how quickly they'll leave you alone." he went on.

"I'll make sure one of them gets the info as to... where to find how to replicate that feeling." he then added with a bit of an evil snigger.

Rene had to pause a moment to process just how dark Kalin's smirk was... before laughing.

"Excellent!" he exclaimed.

"About them getting together... not... on your bed..." he then clarified.

"That shit'd be vile." he mumbled.

"But this means that everyone there will be subject to one of two outcomes." he told her.

"Depending on how they process it, they'll either become junkies that will become a disgrace to their families... or their hearts will end up working too hard and fail on them." he explained.

"Either one gets them out of your hair."

"Well, that's why I got the insurance." Rene responded.

"I'll need to... ahem... scrub it, first." he then mumbled. "Before I take it in to be replaced." he continued.

"But!" he went on.

"Was it a success?" he asked.

"Or, rather, how big of a success did it seem to be?" he clarified, as they pulled away.

After a bit of waiting, Rene's car arrived.

"Yo!" he called to her, rolling down the window.

"Lookin' for a ride?" he asked her.

"Hop in!" he said with a smirk.

"You can tell me all about your day." he added with a chuckle.

He then noticed the laptop in the bag, and smirked slightly.

'Heh. Wonder how well it went...' he thought.
