"That's still impressive. A scholarship? Means you really DO deserve to be there." Rene commented in response.

"Also, I like your attitude." he said.

"It's a good one to have." he continued... just as there was a flash of lightning and a crack of thunder.

"Oh, geez." he muttered.

"This really IS just getting worse." he said.

"I know the weather said it would be wet, but it never said anything like THIS..."

Rene just shook his head.

"And from everything I've learned, you're not rich." he said.

"Meaning living off-campus is NOT an option." he went on.

"Hm." he mumbled.

"Damn." he said.

"It's a shame that you feel these circumstances are the only ones you can speak your mind under." he then commented.

"But yes. I DO care." he assured her.

Rene just growled lightly.

"I see." he said.

"And what of your professors? The school administration?" he asked.

"Surely they have an issue with their students behaving in such a way." he reasoned.

"Their reputation is everything, after all."

Rene paused when he heard that,

"Kiczys?" he asked.

"That... sounds familiar..." he mumbled.

"Regardless, why are your classmates so hellish towards you?" he asked her.

"Surely they're there to graduate, like you?" he went on.

"Especially since it's Harvard, and their Law program."

"Oh!" he exclaimed.

"Oh, wow." he said.

"Good for you. That's a hell of a program." he commented.

He then paused for a moment, before shaking his head.

"And I realise I haven't even introduced myself." he said.

"Rene Calder." he then said, proceeding to correct that little 'slip-up'.

He felt a wave of anger wash over him, but he kept it quiet, and managed to keep his expression unchanged.

"...indeed." he muttered.

"Hm." he then mumbled.

"Where DO you go to school, anyway?" he asked.

"And what are you studying for?" he asked further.

He hated people, that much was true, but he felt like someone trying their best, with the talent and perseverance to succeed, deserved to succeed.

He was about to respond, when he paused suddenly.

"Hell at your dorm?" he asked.

"What do you mean?" he asked her.

He then looked around, before looking back at her.

"Also, mind if I take a seat?" he then inquired.

"The staff here might hassle you less if it looks like you're here with someone." he reasoned.

"Ahhh, I see." he responded.

"Well, I might know of some places that you can go, that won't force you out after 20 minutes, or require you buy something." he told her.

"I know school can be hard, been through it myself." he then chuckled.

"If you need something like that, let me know if you're open to options." he offered.

"Some of 'em can be pretty quiet as well, good for studying and working."

The man just smiled.

"Ah, yes." he responded.

"School can be hell." he commented.

"Just gotta grin and bear it sometimes, though." he continued.

"But you sure you're all right?" he asked.

"Forgive me if I overstep boundaries, but you look rather tired." he told her, understating it massively.

"Almost to the point you seem a bit weak."

"Ah, I'm not expecting anything in return." he responded.

"It's all right, really." he said.

"Though, I AM curious..." he went on.

"You look like you've been out in this weather for a bit, and you don't have the proper protection." he continued.

"Can I help you get someplace?" he asked.

"Whether I give you a lift, call a cab for you, or even supply you with bus fare?' he offered further.

"Nobody should be out in this downpour without proper clothing. Not for long periods, anyway."

The man raised an eyebrow for a moment when he saw that.

'Eh?' he thought.

'Wait a minute...' he then thought further, seeing very slight tinges and twitches.

"...is she... in pain...?" he wondered aloud, but barely above a whisper.

He then sighed and looked at the worsening weather once more, before getting up and making his way over.

"Ah, hello there." he greeted.

"Pardon me for potentially being too forward or sticking my nose where it doesn't belong, but are you all right, young lady?' he asked her.

The one that was there was silent... taking in what he saw.

He was a thin person, himself, but his face wasn't nearly as thin as this girl's. It looked... almost unhealthy.

He then sighed, and made his way to the front cash. He looked at the menu, before one of the staff approached him.

"Can I help you, sir?" they asked.

"Yeah." he replied.

"Could I get the Chicken Ceasar Wrap with a side of sweet potato fries, the spicy mayo for a dipping sauce, and a bottle of water?" he asked. "And deliver it to the young lady with the muffin." he finished.

After paying, he went and sat back down, looking at her again, and then outside.

The rain was pounding down, and it didn't look like it was going to be letting up anytime soon. He loved this kind of weather, but he could tell that SHE probably wasn't enjoying it very much, given her clothing.

'Wonder how this'll go...' he then thought, taking a drink of the coffee that he had.

"Not bought. Rented." Ryker responded.

"I rented it for use on our little journey." he said.

"And I was trying to make it better for the both of us." he went on.

"Also, yeah. I did." he then went on.

"Picked it up as I was fleeing the crumbling enclosure."

"You didn't see it outside?" Ryker asked.

"I got it so we can cover more ground." he told him.

"I have no problems with walking, but c'mon, let's see more of the country." he went on.

"Let's see all we can see." he continued.

"Drive to a place, spend a few days walking around, exploring, camping, and then maybe move on?" he suggested.

"Unless you don't like that idea."
