Again, Rene sighed.

"Yes, I believe we are talking about the same person." he responded.

"See... there's a bit of an issue, though." he went on.

"She may be doing wonderfully in her classes, and she may be at the lead of her peers, but... well... her peers are anything but friends." he continued.

"Savannah, Kalin's at my suite, and she's resting on my couch, after having been walking around with a wound that needed stitches. She's had her laptop go missing, so I'm letting her use one of mine, but her situation is still alarming." he told her.

"Is there any way her deadlines or something can be relaxed? She was mentioning how she needs to get work done in the next few days, but... I have no idea how long she'll be out, her body forcing her to rest."

Rene was silent for a moment, and then sighed quietly.

"Hey Savannah." he replied.

"Yeah, it HAS been a while." he admitted.

"And sadly, this won't be a pleasure." he then told her.

"I'm calling in regards to one of your alumni." he continued. "One Kalin Kiczys." he went on.

"While I have some things to tell you over the phone, I would like to speak with you in person as well." he told her further. "When is the soonest that can happen?" he inquired.

Ryker just sighed quietly, and smiled lightly.

"I think I understand." he said.

"You don't want someone to essentially give you a magic pill to make everything better, or assume you're nuts, or anything like that." he continued.

"You want someone that will listen to you, and is trained to understand the problem, talk it out with you, and perhaps suggestion solutions that may help." he went on.

"You don't want a damned psychiatrist at one of those shady facilities. You want a psychologist that wants to help people." he summarised.

"Am I close?" he asked with a light chuckle.

Rene just sighed when he looked at the unconscious young lady in his arms.

"....right then." he said.

"Welp. It's clear you need rest." he commented.

"And it would not be the best idea for you to wake up in a stranger's bed." he mumbled further.

With that, he grabbed some blankets and pillows, and set her up on his rather sizeable couch, making sure she was comfortable. Once he did that, he made his way to a chair, sat down, and took out his cell phone.

"Harvard, eh?" he mumbled.

"Good thing I still have Savannah's number." he commented, dialling the number in his contact list... and waiting for the dean of Harvard to answer.

"You'd be surprised." Rene responded.

"Odds are I could use some pretty abrasive and harsh chemicals to at least lighten the stain, and then use some dyes to hide it." he told her.

"Granted, it'd look 70's as all hell, but... yeah." he mumbled.

"I can get you a replacement shirt, at least." he told her.

"If you want the rest of your clothes washed while you get that laptop up to par, I CAN give you a robe and get to washing them, or give you some change for a dry cleaners. Again, whatever you feel most comfortable with."

Rene just sighed.

"I see." he responded.

"Well, listen, I've taken care of that wound, and the computer should be ready for you to start making it up to par with what you need." he told her.

"Do you want laundry done?" he asked.

"And no, I'm not suggesting you strip down here to use the facilities I have. Although I DO have a big robe you can wear if you choose that option." he admitted.

"But I can give you fare for a good dry cleaners nearby, as well as some old clothes to wear when you go." he offered.

"Means they're working." Rene replied.

"I'll put some medical bandaging over them." he told her.

"Now, there's not much I can do for the bruising, but I CAN check for further injuries." he went on.

"All right, be honest." he then said.

"Do you have any pain, anyway? Your foot, your ankle, leg, wrist, chest, anything." he continued.

"Those could be a broken bone or a fractured bone, or something along those lines." he warned.

"Again, you amaze me." Rene responded.

"The top of your year. That is impressive, to say the very least." he told her.

"Now, this is going to sting, and I'm understating that." he warned her.

"Just bear it, this wound needs to be cleaned." he said.

He then grabbed a bottle of a solution, and shook it up slightly.

"After this, I'll dress the wound and we'll concern ourselves with any other injuries you may have."

"Mmhmm." Rene muttered.

"Gonna need stitches." he told her.

"Not many, but some." he said.

"I can administer a small low-grade local, and do it here." he went on.

"I'll first need to clean it, though." he continued.

"And you really have no idea how this happened?" he asked.

"See, that alone is alarming. The fact that you put yourself in such a state of exhaustion and delirium, that you don't even remember grievous injuries." he continued.

"I know post-secondary can be hectic, but that's a bit much."

Rene pinched the bridge of his nose.

"Ugh." he muttered.

"I see." he replied.

"Well, let's take a look." he told her as he approached.

'I've seen all kinds of injuries in my lifetime... for one reason or another.' he thought. 'I should be able to identify this.' he told himself, before getting closer and looking her over.

"You are very pale and skinny." he commented.

"Not healthy." he said.

He then gently removed her hand and shirt from the wound to examine it more closely, ready to stem excessive blood flow if need be.

Ryker was surprised for a moment, but returned the hug.

"Hey, it's all right." he said.

"Don't feel like you need to apologise to me or anything." he told him.

He then sighed quietly, and gently rubbed Eke's back.

"Eke..." he then said quietly.

"This trip will be good. Maybe you can do a little soul-searching while we're seeing the country, yeah?" he suggested.

Rene came back with his medical kit... and stopped when he saw her.

And sighed.

"I knew I smelled blood." he commented.

"...but that is one massive bruise, and one nasty cut." he then said, approaching her.

"Right, what happened?" he asked.

"I'm sure you can remember how you sustained such an injury?"

@bonnie: I don't doubt it. But half-assing it may be asking for trouble...

"Ahhh... hm." Rene mumbled.

"Oh, in the livingroom's fine." he told her.

"I'm going to get some supplies." he said.

"Basics. If you wouldn't mind, please strip down to whatever you're comfortable with." he continued.

"But at the very least, remove your jacket." he finished, before going to get what he said he would.
