Ryker just laughed a little.

"Hah, nice." he said.

"Like I said, she'll love them." he repeated.

"You're really thoughtful." he went on.

"Also, it's SUPER adorable how shy you are when it's brought up." he then whispered in Eke's ear.

"...." Hal was silent for a moment.

"No, sweetie." he said.

"It was me." he told her.

'...hm.' he then thought.

"Lunet, it's me, your father." he then said further.

"Are you all right?" he asked.

"What happened there?"

Hal had taken that time and gone downstairs, and Cain had finished his shower.

The two of them were talking to each other, when they heard a shriek from upstairs... a familiar one, for Cain.

"Lunet!?" Hal exclaimed, before disappearing from where he was.

"...not again..." was all Cain mumbled.

Hal burst into Lunet's room, where he saw his daughter locked in a nightmare.

"Lunet, honey, wake up!" he said, getting close and attempting to jostle her awake.

"......." Ryker was silent for a moment... before smirking and chuckling.

"Heh." he laughed.

"I see, I see." he said.

"You really are a romantic, aren't you?" he asked him.

"I bet she'll love them."

Hal just nodded in response.

"Of course." he replied.

"I understand." he told her.

He then hefted her onto his back, and carried her up the stairs, into her room, and then laid her down on her bed.

"Get some sleep, honey." he told her, gently running his hand through her hair.

"Love you." he said, kissing her forehead.

Hal smiled lightly in response.

"My little girl is growing up." he said.

"Seems like only yesterday I started taking care of you." he commented.

He then sighed, and shook his head.

"Want me to take you up to bed?" he asked.

"I can at least do THAT."

Hal nodded.

"I understand." he said.

"Sweetie, try and get some sleep." he told her.

"I know the memories can be harsh, but you really should try and sleep." he said further.

"Okay?" he continued.

"I'm sorry I haven't been home much, lately, too." he then added.

"I'll make it up to you."

"I don't know." Hal responded.

"Just be with Cain." he told her.

"He needs someone in his life that's close to him." he said.

"Someone he cares about, someone that cares for him." he went on.

"Just to keep him from going insane." he reasoned.

"Beyond that, I'm not sure."

"You do." Hal responded.

"You really look bad." he said.

He was then silent, before getting up and making his way closer to her.

"She's haunting you again, huh?" he asked, gently placing his hand on her head.

"Sorry to hear that." he apologised.

"Will you be all right, sweetie?" he asked her.

"......" Hal was silent for a moment.

"I... yes." he said.

"Yes, that would truly be awful." he agreed.

"Sweetie, are you all right?" he then asked.

"I know you said you're not sleeping well, but is there more to it?" he asked further.

"There anything more happening?"

Ryker just rolled his eyes.

"Yes, yes." he said with a smirk.

But he then soon noticed that Eke was getting frustrated.

"Eh? What's wrong?" he asked.

"You look like you're getting flustered." he commented.

"I don't know." Hal responded.

"We're doing all we can." he told her.

"But we're making no progress." he lamented.

"I can't even begin to imagine what Cain's going through, though." he then said further.

"I agree, it must be horrible for him." he went on.

"if I were to wager a guess, it's why he's here." he continued.

"He probably can't stand being around her when she doesn't even recognise him."

Hal just sighed deeply.

"Well, there's a lot of things happening at once." he told her.

"Seems there's an influx of incidents, and my agents are being pulled in all directions." he lamented.

"And Cain's mother?" he then asked, before pausing.

"...well... I suppose you should know." he sighed.

"It seems that Agent Callimachi has been... well... brought back to life. As in, she is a full human. Alive, with a proper pulse, a heartbeat, that sort of thing. She has been... in essence, resurrected from the dead." he continued.

"However... she seems to have NO idea who Cain is." he then lamented.

"No memory of him. At all."

"......." Hal was silent as Lunet gave her explanation.

"....yeah, I'll say." he said.

"You REALLY look like you haven't been sleeping well." he commented.

"And... well, sort of." he then answered her question with a sigh, sitting down in one of the chairs.

"It's still hectic as all get-out, it's just that I have to take a mandated break and such. Basically, if I want to keep my job, I need to at least act like I'm taking care of my mental health." he summarised.

"...who else is here?" he then asked.

"I heard the shower running upstairs when I came in."
