After a couple of seconds, she heard Lex's voice call out.

"I got it, Aimee!" he said.

"I'm close to the door, anyway!" he added.

There was then silence for a moment, as she heard the footsteps stop. It could be easily assumed that Lex had paused, and was wondering why someone was knocking on their BACK door.

Lex then peered through the small window on the door, before freezing. He managed to unlock the door and open it, only capable of staring at who was there.

"...L... Lilim...?" he managed to spit out.

"...I don't think you'll need to worry about that." Azazel replied.

"I mean, you've lived with them, I think you know that they value your privacy and respect your decisions." he told her.

"If anything, the closest he'd get is wanting to know if you're all right. Not where you are or how to find you, but he'd just want to know if you're all right." he explained. "Odds are he doesn't want to be clingy and stalky and all that, and he probably feels it'd be easy to slip into that behaviour, seeing as he probably blames himself for your sudden departure." he then went on.

"...I mean, not that he's incorrect, but you know what I mean." he then mumbled.

"Regardless, if you're going to go back there, it will most likely be on your own terms." he assured her.

"...provided the dark elf doesn't interfere with that and stop you from returning altogether..." he then mumbled quietly, looking away some.

"........" Azazel was silent as he regarded the device.

"I... ah... yeah." he said.

"Yeah, that's... that's dead." he agreed, looking at it a bit closer.

"Yep. That either needs to be repaired, or junked." he said further with a small smirk.

"I can call Lex right now if you want." he then offered.

"Or do you need a little more time before you talk with him?" he asked her.

Admittedly, he was flying by the seat of his pants here. Lilim needed help, and while he'd gone through what she was going through right now, there was no real advice he could give her.

She needed to work through this herself, and all he could be was what Lex and Aimee and anyone else could be... a shoulder to lean on, a friend to confide in, and someone to just be there for her.

"You still got the phone on you?" Azazel asked.

"Or did you leave it behind or lose it?" he asked further.

"Just... curious." he said.

"Because if it's the latter, you may need me to contact Lex and such." he went on.

"Assuming you intend to try and work this out, of course." he added.

"Regardless, I'm sorry I don't have some miracle cure-all for this."

Azazel just sighed.

"Welcome to humanity." he said. "Welcome to being more human." he told her further.

"But I really think you need to work this out with Lex and Aimee." he then suggested.

"...really doesn't change what you said about being lost and confused, though." he continued.

"I can only help so much. This is something you need to come to terms with yourself." he went on.

"...hey, though maybe talking it out with Lex may help as well." he shrugged.

"I just know it was... pardon the term... hell for me when I came to terms with my own emotions." he then added.

"I see." Azazel replied.

"I cannot fault that line of thinking." he said.

"...that being said, what will you do?" he asked.

"You can't just push everyone away because you feel you're a danger to be around." he told her. "That's nothing more than a path to loneliness and self-destruction." he warned.

"But I can't tell you how to live your life, nor can I tell you what you're supposed to do with your new human emotions, or how you're supposed to handle them. That's something that's unique to you." he continued.

"But it seems like you're happy being with Lex." he finished.

"...." again, Azazel was silent.

This was a new side of her. One that he'd never seen before.

'...Lilim...' he thought, trailing off some.

He then sighed, and shook his head.

"For what it's worth, I don't think Alex will ever be able to forget you." he told her.

"However, let me say something." he went on.

"You need to stop TRYING to actively figure it out, and just... let your feelings tell you what you want." he told her further.

"If you need a place to stay, there's here, or with Aedan and I." he then offered.

"While you figure this out, that is."

"Unfortunately, that's something only YOU can answer." Azazel replied.

"That's what sucks about human emotions. They're volatile, they're unpredictable, and you have no rational way to deal with them at times." he told her.

"...though part of me thinks you're overcomplicating this." he then said.

"I mean, you were ready to leave there to protect him and Aimee." he told her.

"That shows that you really do care... and you DO think a lot of him." he continued.

"Part of me wonders if you reciprocate his feelings."

"...." Azazel was silent for a moment, before sighing.

"...so he finally admitted it." he said.

"His sister, myself, Uriel, we've all been seeing it form and come to light, but he finally went and said it." he muttered.

"Right..." he then said, trailing off a little and thinking about it.

"How are you supposed to deal with that?" he asked.

"Well... you first need to ask yourself how you feel about that." he told her.

"And yes, I know it's confusing and new and you're not entirely in control and all that." he then said. "Same as when I took up permanent residence on this plane." he confided in her.

"However, you need to stop thinking about it, and just stop, and FEEL how you feel." he advised her, before pausing.

"All right, that sounded weird." he admitted.

"But you get what I mean. What is the first thing that you felt when he admitted it? I know you clearly panicked, and you left, but think back on it. What sort of things were bubbling under that panic when you heard him?" he asked her further.

'....please?' Azazel thought.

In the LONG time that he'd known her, he'd never heard her say that word, in quite that tone.

He then nodded slowly.

"Yeah, sure." he then said.

"Jake?" he addressed the security guard.

"Go on." Jake told Lilim.

"Come on, then." Azazel said to Lilim.

"There's a number of rooms we can talk in." he told her.

"I do what I can." the man responded.

"Haven't died yet, have no intention of doing so anytime soon." he told her.

"I am nothing if not stubborn to live." he went on.

"The world at large generally wants those like me dead, so I live on in defiance." he said further, before pausing.

"Well... that used to be true." he said.

"As of late, I live because there are those that make life worth it." he told her further.

It was at that point, Azazel stepped through the doors.

"...Lilim?" he asked upon seeing her.

The man behind the desk was silent, before a 'sst' sound was heard.

"...ah, I remember you." he said.

"The one that said I was hell-bound." he continued, before grabbing his comm device that was connected to the P.A. system.

"Agent Az to the front security. You have a visitor." he said, before turning it off.

"Long time no see." he then commented at her.

"Been keeping well?" he asked.

"I don't know." Lex replied.

"I didn't look." he admitted.

"I just laid down in the guest bed she'd been using and stared at the ceiling until I passed out." he told her.

"....." he was then silent, before sighing.

"She did a lot of art on that ceiling." he then told her.

"Dunno if you wanna paint over it, but if you want to take a look, you might want to." he went on.

"Guess she'd been working on it for a long time. Probably ever since she was fascinated by the paintings in the museum when I took her the one time." he added with a shrug.

"....." he was then silent, and sighed again.

"I'll try calling her after I get my drink." he told her.

Lex just looked away when she said that.

"....yeah..." he mumbled.

"But I panicked." he told her.

"I... well... I mean... she mentioned her disappearing, and I didn't know what to do." he went on.

"And the truth just... came out." he continued.

"......" he was then silent, before sighing deeply.

"I'm getting a drink." he told her.

"Want anything?" he asked.
