There was silence for a moment.

"....I'm sorry?" Lindsay asked.

"Never mind, I'm on my way." he then said.

"And we'll need to talk." he told her.

"About a number of things."

Jack just sighed.

"Right." he said.

"Come on." he told the smaller female.

"Let's go." he said.

"The longer we linger, the more behind we get."

Jack just sighed.

"Sure." he replied, lifting the older man up with his shoulders.

"Still. An impressive fighter." he added.

Ash's world then slowly turned back, and he fell forward, crashing to the ground with a dull thud.

"...no..." Ash said quietly, his legs wobbling.

"Yes." Jack replied.

"Your sacrifice is meaningless. You are a moron." he told Ash.

"And now you die." he said further.

"Goodbye."

"What?" Ash asked, still keeping himself up, somehow.

"But... we made a deal." he said.

"The devil's in the details." Jack told him, approaching.

"You threw your life away, and it's your own stupid fault."

"Huh?" Ash muttered.

"Worth something?" he asked her.

"Well... I suppose so." he then said, before looking at her bow.

"...what are you doing, though?" he then asked her.

"No... never..." Levi growled, as he tried to get up.

"...burned your tendons to nothing." Ash said.

"Can't stand now." he told him.

"We're done." he told the woman.

"I stand. He doesn't. I win."

Jack was silent as he heard that.

"Hmph." he muttered.

"Idiot." he said quietly.

With that, the fight began, and it lasted for quite a long time. A longer time than anyone really kept track of. In the end, Ash was barely standing on his feet, seeming to be held up by will alone.

And Levi was down on one knee, seemingly unable to rise to both his feet.

Levi stepped forward and cracked his knuckles.

"Let's do this." he said.

"All right." Ash replied.

Jack was silent for a moment.

"So." he said.

"Any guesses on the outcome?" he asked the females.

"The first one unable to get to their feet loses." Ash responded.

"And no involving spectators or outsiders." he said.

"Fair enough." Levi said, cracking his knuckles.

"So to the death suits you?" he asked.

"Either I potentially die in this fight, or certainly die in the apocalypse." Ash replied.

"Heh." Levi chuckled.

Levi just laughed loudly.

"HAH!" he then said.

"Sure!" he exclaimed.

"Don't break TOO easily now, son." he told Ash.

"I have no intention of breaking." Ash replied.

"Not before I break YOU." he finished.

"Tough talk for a tiny beanpole." Levi spat.

Levi looked at the woman, before walking over.

"Yeah?" he asked.

"...." Ash was silent.

'Huh.' he thought.

'Built bigger than Lindsay...'

The males nodded and made sure Steff was held back.

"I am Ashley Joesph Fyrane." Ash said.

"And I hereby issue a combat challenge." he told her.

"One of you loses, you all return from whence you came." he said further.

"Indefinitely."

"...." Levi was silent.

"Hm." Jack muttered.

"He doesn't seem... like he's going to attack us." he said.

"Yeah." Levi agreed.

"Looks like he's just waiting for us."
