"Fair enough." Rene responded, as their first round of food showed up... sushi rolls for the both of them.

"All riiiiiiight." Rene smirked, turning the plate a little.

"Ones closest to you are the ones you ordered." he told her.

"Dig in." he said.

"If you want, we can do a little bit of sightseeing afterwards, before heading back home." he continued.

"After all, you have plans, and an appointment to make."

Rene nodded.

"This is very true." he said, putting salt in the water, tasting it, then putting a little more in.

"So I suppose this is a good thing all around." he chuckled.

"And yes, this works." he told her.

"Not like the supply back home." he said further.

"By the way, I really am sorry about your unpleasant experience with that bottle of water." he continued.

"Really shoulda warned you back then."

Rene nodded in response.

"Both good reasons." he said.

"And a noble first one, too." he went on.

He then sighed quietly, before shaking his head.

"I wish I could say that's why I first got into medical studies and such, but... sadly, it is not." he lamented.

"That being said, I DID become a doctor to help people. Just didn't start that path with the best of intentions." he then admitted.

"At least I managed to correct my course a little." he said further.

"Though, it IS amazing how useful the knowledge is in my day-to-day personal life." he finished, taking a drink of water, and smacking his lips a little.

"....ah, right." he muttered, before shrugging.

"I love you too, Eke." she replied.

She then pulled away a little and kissed him on his lips.

"Always remember that." she told him.

"And I'll be sure to dream of you at night." she went on.

"If you do the same, maybe we can meet up in dreams." she then giggled.

Rene just chuckled.

"Fair enough." he replied.

"Make sense." he said.

"And those languages will sure to come in handy in the future." he told her.

"A multilingual lawyer is always a good thing." he went on.

He then paused for a moment, thinking about it.

"You know... I don't think it's ever been said..." he then muttered.

"Prosecution or Defense?" he asked her.

"And why whichever one you chose?"

"Uhhhhh.... hmmm." Rene mumbled.

"Most European languages." he told her.

"As well as Japanese and Arabic." he said.

"....and some older, dead languages, but... they don't really count." he went on.

"But Mandarin and Korean?" he then commented.

"Nice." he said.

"Those are tricky ones."

Rene was definitely surprised to hear that.

He made his order as well, speaking excellent Japanese.

Once the menus had been collected, he looked at her.

"Wow." he said.

"That surprised me." he admitted.

"How many other languages do you know?" he asked.

Rene just smiled.

"Anyway, we're here to celebrate her graduating University." he told him.

"Of course! This way!" the man replied, escorting them to where they sat down.

Once they'd been given menus and they ordered drinks, he left to get them.

"Right." Rene said.

"Dunno if you can read Japanese, but the other side of the menu has translations." he told Kalin.

"There's a surprising amount of food here for a 1-page menu." he added.

Rene didn't call attention to her not releasing his hand... nor did he feel any reason to. He liked it. Simple as that.

The two of them then ducked out of the small room, and made their way to the front of the restaurant, where they were greeted cheerily by a man that was working there.

"Rene!" he exclaimed.

"Yo!" Rene replied, as the two of them hugged.

"Ah, hello to you as well." the man then said to Kalin, bowing slightly.

"You are a friend of Rene, I can only assume." he said further with a smirk, and Kalin could tel he had glanced at the two of them holding hands.

Rene shook his head.

"Nope." he replied.

"C'mere." he told her.

She got close, and took his hand, causing him to blush slightly, but they soon disappeared in a ball of water, appearing in what looked to be a back room of some restaurant.

"We're here." he said.

"Owner knows me and allows me to use this space for entry." he told her.

"We'll still need to exit through that door and come in the proper way, though." he added.

Aly responded with a kiss to his cheek, and nodded.

"Of course." she said.

"And I'll be reading it while you're gone. Cover to cover." she promised.

"I promise." she said further.

She then pulled him close and hugged him, her body pressing up against his.

Rene was silent for a moment.

Almost stunned to the point of being in shock.

But he quickly shook his head a little, and smacked his cheeks lightly.

"Uh, no... no, not at all." he said.

"Fashion there is... well, it's whatever." he told her.

"You may stand out, but... doubt it'll be too much, or it'll be a bad thing." he went on.

"Besides, you'll be with me." he then said further.

"Generally the people there that know what I am either love me or hate me." he added, rolling his eyes.

Rene just shrugged.

"Sure." he replied.

"Don't even know if she's working, anyway." he said.

"She keeps stupid hours." he muttered.

With that, they were on their way, and were shortly in his apartment once more.

"All right." he said.

"Get changed or do whatever you need to do." he told her.

"I am no good with that." Rene replied.

"Competent, I guess, but... you don't want to trust me with that." he chuckled.

"I DO know of a good place to get that done here in the city, though." he then told her.

"Here." he said, tossing her his cell phone.

"Girl who runs the salon is in my contact list. Her name's Irene. Call her up and put her on speakerphone." he went on.

"I'll see about a walk-in appointment if you want one."
