"You do that." Everett responded.

"...by the way." he then said.

"I know you've said that you're looking to move back to Canada." he commented.

"When?" he asked.

"Are you currently looking for a place?" he asked her.

"And if so, how's the search going?" he asked further.

Everett just sighed.

"That there's no way he could have done it." he told her.

"He's an old friend of mine, and that is NOT in his character. At ALL." he insisted.

"But it's why I cannot take the lead on this case." he went on.

"I'm scared my personal bias will blind me to some things, potentially." he continued.

"So. You don't know him. You're perfect for this." he told her further.

"You've proven yourself to be more than capable."

After a few minutes, the client Everett was with left his office, and Kalin was beckoned in.

"Ah, Kalin." he greeted her.

"Please, have a seat." he told her.

When she did, he sighed.

"We have a case in regards to an alleged assault." he informed her, handing her the file.

"Take a look at it." he said. "Let me know what you think." he continued.

"And by that, I mean tell me if this is something you feel you're up to." he then clarified.

The male bowed slightly.

"I will, I will." he said.

"Thank you so much, once again!" he declared.

"Be sure to let the boss know what you're doing, or what you've done, depending on your order of operations." Everett told her.

He then nodded, and the two men excused themselves to finish up some things, leaving Kalin to herself.

She said she was going to go to the authorities with information, so Everett was going to let her do just that.

Ryker nodded in response.

"Sure thing." he replied, before looking at Arissa.

"All right, we're off." he told her.

"I'll see you when we get back." he said with a smile.

"Won't be too long." he added.

"But yeah, seems like Eke and I are off now."

The males looked at her quizzically for a moment.

Well, their client did, Everett seemed to have a glimmer of an idea as to what she was talking about.

"Go ahead." he told her.

"My client and I have some details to finalise." he said.

"Thank you once more." the other male said to her.

"I'm told it was your hard work that convinced the jury so well." he commented.

Aly returned the kiss and waved to him as he walked.

When Eke stepped outside, he saw Ryker putting some things in the RV, and dusting his hands off.

"Cool." he said.

"All packed, gas in the tank, just need to stop at the grocery store on the way." he said further, before looking towards Eke.

"Allo, allo!" he called to him.

"We don't." Everett agreed.

"But that's not our job." he said.

"The investigation will be reopened, and more searching will be done." he told her.

"If our services need to come up again, they will." he went on.

"For now, our job is done." he continued, as their client, a 20-something male with light-brown hair approached.

"Thank you SO much." he said to them, gratitude evident in his tone.

"You saved my life." he told them further.

"Go on and eat." Everett told her.

Time passed, and Kalin saw what court was like.

And she saw just how concrete her report was.

And after that, the results were in.

...and it resulted in a resounding unanimous 'not guilty' verdict.

Everett just smiled at Kalin.

"Well done." he told her.

"Of course." Everett replied.

"And you are going to watch the prosecution." he told her.

"After all, this IS your work." he went on.

He then chuckled a little, shaking his head.

"Keep this up, and I'll be out of a job." he said.

"You'll render those of us that have been around longer obsolete!"

Everett accepted the folder, and looked it over.

"....mmhmm..." he mumbled.

"Mmhmm... mmhmm.... mm?" he then muttered.

"Mmm.... hmmmmm..." he murmured to himself.

He was then concentrating hard on it, seemingly scrutinizing every little thing that was in there.

He then laughed out loud suddenly, slapping the folder down in front of him.

"You promised airtight, Miss Kiczys." he reminded her.

"And it seems you've delivered."

Everett raised an eyebrow when she said what she did, and made her claim.

"Oh?" he asked.

"An airtight case resulting in a not guilty verdict? In a fortnight?" he asked further.

"Bold claims, Miss Kiczys." he told her.

"But all right." he said with another smirk.

"Two weeks." he said further.

"Let's see what you can REALLY do, kid."

"End of the month." Everett responded, before checking his calendar.

"Specifically... in 17 days." he clarified.

"I think that's why Gavin assigned you to me. Or at least, this was one of the reasons." he continued.

"This isn't a trial by fire, but you'll see JUST how intense court can get." he went on.

"We'll see just how well you fit in with this." he told her further.

"Think you have what it takes?" he asked with a small grin.

"And don't think I won't miss you." Aly responded.

"But all right, go and check on Ryker." she told him, kissing him back and letting go of the embrace.

"He should be out with the RV he rented." she continued.

"I think Arissa is out there as well, helping him." she went on.

"But go on." she said.

"We'll have a 'ladies-only' time here." she giggled.
